I would say that it is more faded than I would be happy with. It doesn't cost anything to inquire with a Honda dealer about your concern. I would request that a district service manager inspect it and see if they are willing to help you out. You never know.

Washing too often is bad too. You're abrading the finish, wearing it away gradually each time you rub towels all over it.

I wax my car with pretty much every wash, and then try to touch my paint as little as possible.

But I agree, red is a really bad color when it comes to aging.

I watched an episode of Fifth Gear a few weeks ago where Jonny went to a detailer.

In short, don't rub the towels.

Slightly longer: use sheeps wool to wash with lots of soap and two buckets of water. When drying, PAT the car down (lay the drying towel on the car, then pat it a little and move on).

The one time I dried my car with towels it left several light scratches. Now I just go to a self serve car wash that has a hand held dryer gun and use that. Pretty sad how thin the clearcoat is.

If I had shown up three days earlier to my dealership interested in a MT Honda Fit sport I would of had the choice of Black or that gold-ish color. Instead I bought the only remaining new Manual Sport within 200 miles of Tuscaloosa. Oh well.

I have a 2009 Milano Red sport and it looks just like yours even though I wash, wax, and polish it quite a bit. I know that the paint on the Fit is really thin based upon a friends paint thickness measuring device from his work which is used on equipment for the military to make sure the paint is the correct thickness. Anyhow, it is about half the thickness of his Honda Accord. Other than painting it, I am not sure what else can be done because the polishing helps but it still is fading differently than the bumpers as well as going pink.

That was my worry with buying a red car I have seen other red cars begin to look pinkess. However, there are several 2007-08 red Fits around here the color still looks good. Maybe it is the lack of sunshine in our area.

I am not sure if I am keeping the car depends on what Honda does to the next generation as far as up grades. If I trade it in I will get white next time only if I can get a manual.
