5W-20 or 0W-20?
Some confusion here about my last oil change. Don't know if it's worth raising a stink over. The work order shows 0W-20 was used. The tech put a 5W-20 oil change reminder sticker in the window. I have a 2012. Is it worth worrying over if it is 5W-20?

Technically, 5w-20 oil does not meet the warranty requirements for the 2012 fit. In practice, both offer very similar levels of protection to the engine and clearly 5w-20 was ok for the exact same engine in earlier years.

You are fine.

so... is the stink you want a new sticker that says 0w-20 on it so it matches the work order? cause that's what they are going to tell you what happened to get rid of you.
In other words, no it's not worth it. don't be that guy.

yah, but the best way to go about this is the dealer dont confuse the customer by placing wrong labels.

My anecdotal evidence is that 0w20 protects slightly better against wear than 5w20 based on UOA sent to blackstone. Don't really have a problem with either weight burning oil, so not an issue for me.
That said, it's not a huge difference either way. And since the paperwork has the right weight for the warranty, I'd not worry about it.
