2013 Fit Sport -Help Question

When I look at the wheel well of my 2013 Fit Sport, it does not have the usual black liner (mud guard) inside. All I see is white and metal.
Called dealer today when noticed it. She said the 2013 Sport does not have it in order to allow for the larger tires.
This maybe true on the 2012 as well because there were no changes.

If you have a 2013 Sport, is yours like this?

that's the rear, right? (your pict is driver side rear quarter arch). my 09 nor 12 has a liner for the rear. so you're good to go.

if your front's missing then hummm, that dont sound right.

I notice that too on my 12 Fit Sport. I was thinking of getting some under coating spray and covering it for protection in the winter from salt.

no need. my 09 is rarely washed and been through 3 years of salt. surface rust but nothing to worry about.

Yes, it is the rear front part. The rear back has the black guards as does both front wells.
Thanks!
I feel silly. I could have sworn my 2010 Sport I traded in had it.
I was worried. It just looks strange. Maybe they should have painted them black.

yah, it will dirty up in no time. hahaha.

i suppose you can paint it if you want. i would use matte black engine enamel in this case. engine enamel is very durable.

i would stay away from the sound eliminator gooey sprays.

Mine has the same thing....A bit disappointing hey?

Did you say an older model had them? Do you think it is something we can order from Honda and install ourselves? Not exactly perfect would be better than what we have now....Thinking it might be time for a visit to Home Depot to find some sort of DIY liner to put up in there. Might be a nice project for the weekend.

I too thought of painting them (Duplicolor in the same black as the FIT) but now with all the crud (and they are washed weekly I might add) what are the chances of paint sticking now? It would have to be a really good prep job me thinks.

I thought of plastidip since it is all the rage...never thought of engine enamel Kenchan....love it!

if you use a brush and wash the wheel wells real good, degrease it with a blast of brake cleaner i am sure paint will still stick.

engine enamel is great because it's super hard. i used that stuff on my old GD's fog lamp surround piece. i drove my GD through 4 winters and there were some indentations from rocks and salt hitting it, but not one chip. wow!

hi ,i also have a 2013 fit here in SA . dealer may be correct, but i also think its cost related. you will also notice the white seam sealer applied copiously under the wheel well, this is a method of sound deadening on the 2013. The older models don't have so much seam sealer as the older models. My 2013 model is much quieter than my 2010 model.
