What should the new Fits have as in options for us in north america

Jazz Hybrid
I want the American version of the Jazz Hybrid with heated leather seats, panoramic roof, Hybrid engine, and Lime Green Metallic paint.
I have no use for an electric vehicle that can't make the trip from NorCal to SoCal in 6 hours. Cruise control is a requirement for long road trips; kills my knee without it.
Drivers anywhere south of 37 degrees latitude need stronger A/C.
And please redesign the GE8 dash, those samurai lines and random knob placements are butt ugly. I preferred the clean simplicity of the GE dash.
What is with the headliner placement of the rear middle seat seatbelt? That cuts down my cargo headspace by five inches top and back!
The horn sounds like a scooter.

Seriously speaking...knowing honda US and Canada will only go so far.....
any real speed options would go to the civic....
anyways for the next Fit, a 6speed manual and say 135hps would be nice, sunroof option and I'll be a happy camper.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned. I did not read the entire thread.
I wish the rear window would open. I would love it if it would roll down, but would settle for it popping open like on my expedition.

I'd still be tempted by such a feature anyways. ~_^

I wonder what the additional cost would be for an Si/Si-R version of the Fit with IRS, Discs, & an R18 under the hood. $2k more?

I owned a 1992 honda civic CX, (1.5L, 70 HP) so I don't mind slow. Funny thing the FIT 1st gen. is within 1.5 inches in any dimension of the 92' civic, and weight is almost equal too. I averaged 38mpg over 10yrs and 200k miles in the civic.
Admitted, the FIT has much better pick-up.

Had one liked it, the fact that the FIT is an updated version of that civic is the reason I bought a 07 FIT. I do miss the split tailgate of the civic though.

What SHOULD be an option? The same things that are either options or standards, in any other country, provided that they are legal here.
Honda acts as if the Fit is a budget car in the US.. what they fail to realize is that Fit owners want accessories too, and they could make a lot more money if they made these options available.. I still don't understand why they don't.
I created the following thread a while back to try and create a list of what those things were: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...out-chart.html

Honestly? Here's what I'd like to see:
Standard equipment:
- Rear sway bar standard across the range.
- An engine that doesn't fall on its face if I have to pass a semi on the highway. R18? They make it already, and its small enough, so why not?
- BETTER SEATS. My poor old man back can't take those seats much more.
- Rear disc brakes on Sport models. We've had the disc brake on cars for over 110 years now, and we should have thrown drum brakes away entirely when we figured them out. They have no purpose other than saving money and adding weight. But if we'd ditched drum brakes back in 1902, discs would have been quite a bit cheaper by now, wouldn't they?
- I've mentioned this in other threads, but how about a real battery?
Options:
- Tow package. Nothing amazing, but just enough to tow a small U-Haul or other trailer.
- Roof rack/cargo box. Either one.
- Some kind of HFP/Mugen suspension offering. Stiffer springs at least. Out of the box, these cars offer a lot of understeer. Changing the rear sway bar design to a removable one with an upgrade option would be nice, too.
I think that covers a realistic "wish list" for those of us wanting a small car that doesn't feel like a compromise/bargain basement car, want to have a little fun, or have things to do and stuff to move around. Which is also what makes up a good chunk of the market these days (except up here where everyone wants a truck).
