Anyone tried 205/45/17 +40 offset?

Standard. It won't rub on springs, either.

trust me, it would not rub on stock suspension. it would look bad though since big wheels on low profile tires, combined with humongous fender gap would make your car look like a "kalesa" hehe =P. better start off with lowering springs. that, alone, would already make your car look a lot better. i highly recommend either espelir or tein s-tech to lower the stance. then work your way in finding a compatible set of wheels/tires. i am sure there are a lot of better options out there.

Here's a photo of mine.
17x7.5 +40 205/45/17
Stock suspension. Fat gap. I put the wheels next to stock. about the same size. the gap will seem bigger with smaller tires.
