2009 Fit HID Recommendations?
I need to replace my lights badly. My ex-boyfriend changed out my HID's last time and "lost" my stock headlights. I was wondering if anyone had some affordable recommendations for HIDs - I'd prefer more of a white color over the blue-ish tint.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Lol jk. You'd be better off with just halogen lights if you want cheap. Or do you already have the ballast and only need the bulbs? If you just need bulbs go to theretrofitsource.com and get the morimoto bulbs.

If you're replacing the whole thing it wont be cheap.. You can get a kit from the above website as well but it'll be around $150.

go to your nearest local jdm/tuner shop/supplier... they will install it free or with minimal charge and you will get replacement warranty for them HIDs if ever they fry... and you're supporting your local small biz and will benefit you in the long run

I see what you did or trying to do there J. :P
I have no answers for you mzkitty, but I would definitely get a 4200K light which is white and not blinding to other drivers and actually lets you see in front of you correctly. I wish the other higher K lights would be banned, absolutely unable to see at times when on-coming. The cheaper kits use these, OEMs are in the 4200~4500K region if I am not mistaken.

My first question is... is it a retrofit or PNP setup?
does it look like the pics in here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...-done-now.html
or does it look more like this: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...tml#post918271 ?
If you have a retrofit, then you MUST replace HID as previously suggested.
If you have a PNP, you can go back to halogen bulbs... just need to unplug the HID system from the stock headlight wires (basically, free up the plugs that will plug into the halogen bulb)... oh, it's an H4 bulb. You can buy H4 bulbs just about any auto store.
You don't need to do much else... even if it has a relay system attached to the battery, once you unplug it, it won't draw any power from the battery, so you can just leave all the wiring where they are. That is, unless you want to "clean" up/out the wiring.

And yes OEM is typically a 4300k. 5000k in the upper end Land Rovers, Mercedes, BMW, etc..
Goob's my bet is on non-retrofitted but that discussion isn't one I want to open up in this thread. I'm sure you understand.
