Where is Honda going?
Spent the last week in San Diego. I noticed a lot of Miata's, a few FR-S's, RX-8's Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers. All fun to drive "sports cars. Honda has what to compete? Where is this company going? What is it's corporate philosophy? Used to be top tier. Still is in reliablilty, but what else?

Ya, they must be trying to capture the crowd that used to buy Mercurys and Oldsmobiles. Even the civic seems to have lost most of its youth appeal since it has gotten much softer. Maybe all the Kia Souls and Mazda 3s of the world are making the civic look numb by comparison.
Not that I am complaining. The Fit is as outlandish as I need a car to be.

Honda is going with the cars that actually sell. The Miata/FRS/Mustang/etc. are not huge money makers, their existence is justified by bringing people to the dealership so those same people will buy a Fusion/3/Camry/etc.

yeah, but Scion is mass sold and a Toyota in reality.

they make money, and still bring people in. They haven't written off an entire segment. 100,000 give or take a few, Camaros and Mustangs each years is nothing to ignore

Social media is a multi-billion dollar industry. I sometimes wonder if certain people aren't paid employees of other auto makers to stir up forums and cause confusion. A lot of people find information about their cars when researching forums via google. I doubt that is the case here, but it's an interesting, albeit paranoid, thought.

This same thread already got locked once...then you come back on and make pretty much an identical thread in the same exact forum. Atleast have the competence to make the thread in The Wasteland where you would probably get a real discussion, rather than make an asshat of yourself and look like a troll.

A new Toyota/Subaru sports car. (Maybe FR-S. Don't know Subaru's nane for it) But that is not important, just a distraction. Both models get great reviews and are affordable

I like how he brought up the RX8 which was a massive sales failure and has been discontinued in the US for a couple years.
And what sporty Hyundais are there? The Genesis coupe is an overweight pig, and all the other cars were worse than the comparable Honda in every dynamic category.
