Ignore the FR-S, that car was developed by Subaru, none of the other cars have even an ounce of entertainment value.

I agree....that is why I brought up the FR-S. It was a joint development, as I recall. Not many Toyotas are fun either. But, Toyota has learned a lesson, and at least they are correctiing it.

The only thing Toyota had any hand in on the car was the direct injection system, every other part was Subaru.

This brings me back to my original point: Where is Honda headed? Doesn't seem positive at this point. Too bad. Put a Si engine in the CR-Z. One partial cure.

OK, maybe so, but they are still selling it as a Toyota. Honda?

Honda is inbetween sports cars.

2013 Honda Accord Gets Sport Model, CVT For 4-Cylinders, 6-Speed Manual For Certain Trims | The Truth About Cars

Well then, all other midsize sedans can go DIAF.

They have been in between for some time.. A little slow on the uptake. they need to make it quicker. And hire some stylist/designers.

Yeah 2009 - 2012 without a sports car...such a long delay >_>

Its not like Hyundai had NEVER made a sports car. Or how Chevy went 6 years, Toyota 8 years, etc.

2009-2012? No, 2013 model year and still waiting. and waiting. and waiting. And Chevy did not do without a sports car. They have had the Vette all along. Very affordable.

Toyota's current line up is complete shit. I test drove the Yaris and Corolla as possible alternate options after the first Fit died and I wasn't impressed at all. Honda's current line up > Toyota's. All day.

Huh?

The RX-8 was discontinued last year in 2011. While sales declined, the main reason for stopping production is they couldn't meet european emissions standards. They are however working on a next-gen rotary. Probably won't be an 8 year gap like it was with the RX-7 to RX-8.

Hmph.

50k is now the affordable benchmark for a sports car? Well then wetphoto why are you trolling around with the proles?

BTW, Mazda sold like 1200 RX8's in 2010...

I'm a noob so I'm not sure I get it - is this topic not allowed? I have my own thoughts as to Honda's current portfolio and likely future direction, although, I would probably start my own thread about it if I was going to go into detail.

This same user has started the exact same thread before and it was closed after 12 pages of bickering.

For some reason the staff on this site has no issue with his repeated trolling.

This topic has been discussed over and over and over again. It looks ridiculous to people who read the dozens of pages worth of this crap every month.

Interesting. We should definitely ban all posts related to gross aftermarket wheels then. OR we could just not read the many posts that each of us don't personally have interest in

I will at some point add my own commentary to the topic but not now.

If there were a section especially for "the decline and fall of the Honda empire (or not)", or one single thread on the topic that was required for use, might help things a little. I have seen that approach used before, although, it does sometimes stifle discussion if someone DOES actually have a new take on something.
