All parts have arrived. Install starts today depending upon weather. Plus welding up a 2" receiver hitch for towing a motorcycle and my Yakima Hold-up bicycle rack.

Cool! How about some DIY pix if you don't mind. Would like to see the end product too.

The wiring and headlight dissassembly was cake. The projector retrofit is a bear and taking on dimensions which are taxing my patience. I settled on a different approach to mount the projector to the headlight reflector and will tackle this tomorrow. You guys who do retrofits, Kudos to You! I'm pretty handy but now I see how it takes someone two days to do just the retrofit on two headlight assemblies. Its going to take me at least three and my wife is not to happy about how our Veterans Day weekend is turning out. I was going to leave the stock reflectors alone (chrome) but after cracking the passenger side reflector, I'm going with matte black now. The reflector removal is next to impossible and after cracking one side, I am going to rotozip the reflector without removal. If someone comes up with a fairly universal mount instead of each retrofit being a one off experiment, this could be done by the average guy. At the moment, I do not recommend it for the less advernturous. I'll try to post pics when I'm done. I have pics but it seems this forum does not upload my pics directly from my computer. I'll have to photobucket or something another day.

Morimoto FX-R projector HID retrofit finished

First, on the original topic, the HID's in the fogs made a huge difference in light output. Yes, the light is scattered compared to my new HID Projectors, but nonetheless very bright by at least a factor of two.

The retrofit HID Projectors turned out so nice that frankly, I am amazed. The roadway is lit up like never before and the cutoff is laser sharp. I painted the reflector rattle can satin black and am somewhat satisfied. I may take it apart again to inlay carbon fiber cloth.

I use my foglights upstate on those really dark highways otherwise i never use them it also helps if a headlight burns out so you at least have some kind of headlight to see

Where I live in California, the chance of fog is about pretty high in the mornings. The fogs come in handy when I'm feeling my way around at 30 mph on a rural road. The fog lights help light up the side of the road close to me which allows me to know I'm on the road vs driving off of it. The extra glare from the brighter HID's has not been an issue and the extra lumens definintely helps. With the HID's the area in front of the Fit is significantly more illuminated than stock. Now when I turn on the fogs, I see a bright area of light which fills in what the low beams do not closer to the car.

That looks MUCH MUCH better than what the output would be for Drop-in hid. You will appreciate the quality lighting and oncoming drivers will appreciate it much more.
