sad day for my fit

Monday was a pretty sad day for my fit. I was headed into work when I got tagged by a dodge ram 3500. I was doing 45mph when I noticed this guy starting to pull out across my lane. I tried to slow down and move to the right.
Now its all up to the insurance company to see if I will get her back or not. There was surely some suspension damage.

That stinks! Keep your fingers crossed. If you don't get your car back will you get another one?

That sucks, but as solbrothers stated, at least you are alright.

And here I am worried about the hail storm I had to drive my Fit through last night. So sorry to see this but glad you are OK and able to walk away from this. Hope that nothing major was damaged and you can get it fixed and back on the road. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Looks like the Fit did it's job again in keeping the driver relatively unharmed. If you haven't done so already, be sure to see a doctor to get checked out. (Even if you're feeling OK).

I was already checking out the dealerships supply of 2012s. I know one thing I wont be getting a nissan versa! I am still shocked how a day later I am not the least bit sore.

dang that does suck. I think my fit is cursed. Ive always owned shitty cars until this one and never had any accidents. and with only 3k on my fit, i got broad sided by a buck and did 8k worth of damage. destroyed the whole driver side. But they fixed it and its back looking good again. Hope everything works out in your favor. It would be nice to be able to upgrade to a 2012 tho

Yep the car sure did its job! Talked to the repair shop and they are saying its $11k to fix. Now to wait for the insurance to review everything.

Is that Dodge Ram in the background of the picture the one that hit you? Set it on FIRE!

Lol, joking aside.. Glad to see your safe. It's also kind of comforting to hear stories like these because they are definitely a testament to the durability and quality engineering of the Fit.

I think you're lucky it was "totaled". It looks like the safety cell (I forget the Hondaspeak for it) was buckled near the A-pillar. If you had happened to have another collision in the same place the car would not have held up as well.

Good luck with the next car purchase!

That's both heart breaking and good news. A) you lose a car you have been working on and putting your blood and sweat into but B) you don't have to get it repaired and still be paying off a car that is rebuilt and could potentially have other issues down the road.

That being said, you planning on getting another Fit?

Ultimately you're better off with a totaled Fit and a pocket full of cash than a repaired and drastically devalued Fit.

Keeping you safe is the most important thing. Cars can be easily and quickly replaced; injuries can last (and cost) a life time. Just make sure you get a good pay-out from the insurance company. If their settlement offer seems low, you can always negotiate.

. Yeah, u could be like me, stuck in a fit i owe 17k for still and its only worth 9k trade cause it had previous frame damage meaning it cant be honda certified giving me the shaft. Had it not been wrecked id get 15500.00 for her. Freaking sucks. Insurance is a damn joke! I wish mine woulda been totaled. I only wish!
