Signed the papers and drove home in my 2012 Fit Sport Auto last night.

I wrote a check for $18,600 and was on my merry way.

Negotiations started at $20,700 OTD and I went back and forth with them many times. They said $19,200 was absolute cheapest they could go, and they'd be taking a big loss at that point. I stuck to my guns, told them their losses are not my concern, my concern is getting the best deal and helping my family's financial situation, not the dealer's bottom line.

They came down to $19,000 OTD and I planned to buy at that price.

I then called around to other Honda dealers and gave them each a chance to beat that price. I got an offer of $18,800 OTD so I called back my original dealership and the finance manager just laughed and said "I give up, you win".

So $18,600 for a Tafetta White 2012 Fit Sport (I think wheel locks, window etching, and the god-awful pinstripe were the only add-ons). $18,600 was AFTER TT+L and all dealer fees.

There are deals to be had, just MAKE them earn your business and pit dealerships against one another. We all know it's a game, just play it better than them and don't cower down. Step out of your comfort zone for a few minutes to save yourself lots of money over the next few years.
