The OEM Honda Brake pads were getting me about 14000 miles. I was on my second set when the technician told me I had barely any left at about 27000 miles. I decided to switch to a different pad and went with Autozone Duralast Gold Cmax pads.

I am now at 44000 miles and the technician says I have 9mm left, 2-3mm is where the pad should be replaced and 12mm is the thickness when new. So the Autozone pads will probably last me another 30-40k miles give or take.

The only problem I found with the autozone pads is they do squeal from time to time. Its not often that they squeal, but only on occasion. As for the true braking ability or how they work with the traction control/abs...I have no idea. Everything seems to work fine. Maybe instrumented testing would tell a different story, but I dont plan on doing that.

 

strange, I have 56k on the original pads and still have plenty of meat.

 

Unfortunately, that has not been my experience at all. Before this I had a Toyota Solara and I never had to change the brakes. I had two sets of Honda pads and they both wore down very quickly. The Autozone pads seem to be doing fairly well.
