Anyone else not feeling the new bumper?

I'm still somewhat on the fence about it, but I'm leaning towards not liking it. Anyone else have any thoughts about the new bumper?

The only bumpers I feel aren't on the front of the Fit, that's for sure.

But, I like the Fit bumper still. And I contemplate it almost never, since purchasing the car.

Just curious. How does a moderator only have 7.8% daily activity? Just wondering because the moderation seems really spotty.

Not feeling the new bumper. Just a bumper. The 2012's lots nicer than our 2008. Smoother, faster, handles better, quiter, better throttle pedal location, adjustable steering wheel, i-pod interface. What's not to like.

I also want to know if the '09 to '11 fit directly to the '12. I kinda want to change mine.

Never noticed before but now that I did a comparison the 2011 looks more aggressive w/ the bigger slits and more curves... Anyone else see that?

Put me down for "not liking the new bumper" either. Seems to be change for change's sake, not an improvement.

Also dont like the new bumper. I feel like they wrecked a really nice design.

Btw it IS possible to swap relatively easily. I believe you just need to buy a new upper grill to fit the smaller space in the old bumper and possibly the clips that go with it. The rest of the components should be a straight swap.

I have a 2012 LX which is a mid version with the base bumper, and just did a bumper swap to the 2011 sport version. If mine worked, im willing to bet the sport will be just fine too as it doesnt make any sense to have fundamentally different chassis behind the bumper.

Heres my swap thread:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...sion-pics.html

if you have a 2012 sport, just skip the fender liner part and buy the 2011 upper grill.

I think it would look great in white, black, or silver, but pretty bad in relatively any other color.

No. No no no no no.
The 2012 bumper is completely reshaped. You can't just use the grille on the 09-11 bumpers.

I personally like my 2012, the upper grille is a little odd sometimes (mainly only on white) but I deal with it.

you misread what i meant. I am saying that once you get a 2011 bumper(buy trade etc.), you just need the '11 upper grill and possibly lower grill( im not sure if its different or not). then you can do a direct swap. Headlights are a different colour, but the exact same shape.

this is for the 2012 sport, it would seem that the rear bumper is exactly the same, and that most of the components from the 09-11 fit on the 12(other than the ones we talked about)
