Might be worth a shot to call the other insurance and see what they're offering. What if they're really offering $11k and your insurance is keeping a slice? Plus you should ask about pain and suffering money. I got an additional grand or so for that which helped buy a better car than what was being replaced. Plus any time you might have missed from work should be compensated.

Sure you can, what do you think your carrier is going to do once the dust settles and fault is assumed? They're going to subrogate.

The question is, will it be worth any more dealing with them, probably not. Also, the standard practice is to continue the rental for 7 days beyond an offer to settle. If you're going to dig in, believe me they won't continue providing the rental beyond that time. They use that as pressure to get the settlement done.

Just got this...

"I did review this claim with my leader. At this point our next step is to utilize the appraisal clause in your policy. This clause states that you have the right hire your own appraiser should you not agree with our determination. Since this is a different kind of claim with the salvage title we can go ahead and assign an appraiser to reinspec the vehicle and determine the value. I can then present the new value to you, should you not agree with our value at that point you have the right to hire your own appraiser, which would be an out of pocket expense. Please let me know if you would like to move forward that way. Thanks!"
