Stock Dunlops = Fragile?
#23
Ok, this is something that I can try. I usually kept them at 30-32 PSI. I'll bump the pressure up a little. I only have around 13K on the car, and would like to get at least 30K or so out of the Dunlops before I go to Contis.

Switched out our stock tires for a tire with a treadwear rating more suited to our monthly weekends with ESCA. Had plenty of tread left. These tires would have gone 40,000 miles. 35lbs in the front seems like car stabilitys perfect. Freeway driving at speeds above 65.

Stock tires are rarely good, especially in economy cars. Doesn't surprise me that Dunlops aren't terribly great, either.
I am not near to replacing my tires, but in general I like Michelins - if you choose the right one, they'll give you a relatively grippy tire with high tread wear and good low-temp flexibility (not to the extent of a winter tire, but that's a separate category).
I know little about tires but I want to spend the next few years learning so that I can get a quieter tire next time :P

one can have the best tires, but if the psi is wrong, it will drive like crap. too high or to low, will perform like crap.
