Painting my headlights...gloss or flat?

I'm painting the trim of a 2nd pair of headlights in preparation for a retrofit. I have 2012 lights in there now which are gloss, and look nice. Any thoughts/pics of which would flow better on a Crystal Black Pearl Fit?

Thanks!

IMO flat black is the way to go.

I think it looks more OEM/Cleaner to me, especially since your'e doing a retrofit. If that makes any sense lol

Yeah, OEM is what I'm going for. Only hang up is that OEM for 2012 is actually gloss...that's why I'm so torn.

I went for flat because its will absorb any stray light, instead of reflect it.

The GD3's had color matched headlights also.

I'd go with the flat, looks better, and reflects less light (as mentioned), but I probably would not do the whole headlight black... might leave the reflectors chrome when I do my retrofit.

I like this idea, but doesn't this make the lights look a little grey as a result (in direct light)?

Yeah I agree black on black looks really nice. I'm just trying to decide if flat black will actually look grey in direct light.
