New Fit Owner from Mexico
First things first, I want to say hi to everyone. After reading some posts I realize most of you are American Fit owners. I live in Mexico and I just bought my first Fit. It's a second hand '09 Fit EX Auto (I guess that's the equivalent to an '09 sport) After reviewing some pics and posts I see we don't have the same car... Would someone know the differences? I want to upload some pics but can't find the option to do it... Maybe I need more posts to have the option to do that. Thanks for your help!!

This site doesn't support direct photo uploading to posts.
You need to upload your photos with to you account's photo album (under user cp button near top) or a 3rd party image hosting site kimageshack, photobucket, etc).
Then link to it using the img tags (there's a button visible when you post).

Biggest difference is in the shortness of the nose, as yours is about 1 ft. shorter than the USA model. Checked on this before I purchased my USA '11 sport, as my garage would have been better suited to the Mexico model. There are quite a few minor interior differences, i.e., number of airbags, paddle shifter design, electronics etc. but nothing too drastic. Also, the design of the tailights is different in your model from USA. I live in Mexicali, so I did a bit of research of both before I purchased. Also, the factory financing was much better in the states vs. Mexico. Enjoy and have fun with it.

I've been searching for more info and you are right, USA models have lots of airbags, the paddle shifters. As for electronics, the main thing I can see is the lack of iPod interface, for Mexico it came standard until 2010, and VSA, in Mexico it's not even an option. What I find odd id that USA models come with rear drum brakes and Mexican ones have 4 disk brakes. Maybe it was cheaper to leave it like that than to replace them for us, as there is a culture of selling everything stripped down here in Mexico.

^^LOL! I'm actually going to Mexico in a few weeks to the Honda dealer to pick up a bunch of parts so I can do my front end conversion.
Mexico basically has the JDM fit so I hope the parts will be sort of cheap.

Wow that is a huge amount of work. I like the look of the US fit sport with he spoilers and all that, but only if you are looking it from the front. I think it's oddly proportioned from the side, with a ver long nose that cut the original lines of the car. Good luck with your conversion, for sure you will have a different fit from others in the US. What are you going to do with the back from the car? Will you leave the lateral skirts and everything?

Yes, my Fit has rear disc brakes, not sure if only the EX version ( the most expensive) has them. I would send pics but I'm having trouble uploading them.

I'm going to look at everything that they have there so I can maybe bring some more stuff back with me.
I just want to be able to get some of the JDM bodykits to work on the car since I have the right contacts to bring them in from Japan.

Yes, please see what info you can find out. From what I've been reading on here it's a complete rear trailing arm assembly. I'm guessing new brake lines too? and what other parts?
GL with the JDM conversion, some of the JDM kits look great!!! Wish I could do one of the Noblesse kits w/o the conversion.
Welcome the_stig... great s/n. Post up some pics... just go to imageshack, or another file hosting service sign up (free), upload your pics there, then copy the links to here.
