Mirror to Mirror width?

What is the mirror to mirror width of the Fit? I've got a deposit down on my new 2012 Fit (won't be delivered til end of May) and I need to prep my too-crowded garage for its new occupant.

Don't know the mirror-to-mirror width, but it's 66.7 inches without mirrors: 2012 Honda Fit - Specifications - Official Site

Thanks doctordoom, but I need the outside edge of the left mirror to outside edge of the right mirror measurement.

C'mon somebody--open your windows and run a tape measure across please.

Just clean up the garage. Throw the wife's crap out.

Mine sits outside as I have my track in the garage.

SWEET TRACK! Unfortunately the all crap's mine (inside the house is a different story), and it's a narrow old-house garage with a narrower old-house garage door.

Black3sr, did you put your TPMS sensors on your new wheels?

Thanks

We do not have TPMS here.

FWIW, The mirrors fold in so if its really tight, you can do a narrower approach.

My '91 civic can't get in there (its mirrors don't fold), and its mirror to mirror measurement is 74". Can somebody please just take a tape measure to their 09-12 Fit? I'm beginning to think none of you guys actually have Fits :-P

If you can't get your 91 Civic in there, a GE definitely won't fit... it's mirrors are like 2 feet across by themselves (they're obcenely big). I'll run outside real quick because i'm bored at work

Edit: 79 inches almost exactly. I guess the mirrors aren't as huge as they look.

Thank you thank you. Crap those are big mirrors. Looks like I will be folding both of them in.

Just get as much space as possible.

Are you really so tight that a couple inches is all the difference?

If I say 75" what are you going to do differently than if i say 73"?

I'm just not understanding where you're going with the question

The garage door is 75" inches wide, so my civic at 74" maybe could get in, if I hit it perfectly, but that's a big if. I thought that given that all the dimensions of the fit and the civic (except height) are so close, that the M to M width would be also. Now it looks like I'll have to go in with both mirrors folded. Bottom line for me--do I get all my crap out of the garage because I know the Fit will get in there, or do I not bother. The car's not coming for another month, so now I've got time before it arrives.

And yes, it was probably a stupid question, but it's been eating at me since I signed the papers.

Ah I see.
Looks like you're out of luck :/, or even if it is really close, I think I'd rather just not deal with the precision driving needed to get in and out, and risk ripping a mirror off when late for work and a little groggy in the morning.

Time to shop around for a car cover instead?

Is it a garage or a storage shed disguised as a garage

It's about 71-72" with the mirrors folded (I measured) that gives you about 3" of free space.

That being said, i'd rather use a car cover and leave my stuff in the garage.

Thanks again Wanderer--I thought it was going to be 67 w/o mirrors, but I guess they meant WITHOUT mirrors. This a good heads up for what's to come.

It's a good incentive to get rid of stuff I'll never need again, and It'll make the wife happy (at least until she has to fold in the mirror every time we enter the garage...)

So after you fold the mirrors, park your new pride and joy in it's new form-fitting home...how are you going to open the door to get out?
