Goodbye

Well it was nice while it lasted. I am going to sell the mugen fit.......

Why you all ask? well the car I am looking at now has AWD and 265 hp..... for the same amount i am paying now for the fit...... the fit can't handle the hilly terrain that my gf is in so i need to ugrade.... that's why i am choosing the Subaru 2012 WRX.... Who want's to buy my car?

I'd say learn to drive, I live in the mountains and the fit handles them way better than riding 17psi of boost in my GTI up them, have fun with heavy drivetrain wear on the WRX.

I live in a very mountaineous area and have never had an issue with my Fit not being able to pull on them. I ask and it goes!

is it hills or elevation?
2 different things...

In tahoe at 7000ft, the Fit definitely is gasping and has trouble in the higher speeds/gears to accelerate or even maintain speed up hills.

hills + no power.... i know how to drive. lol silly redline.

ps: my fit is automatic.... thats one of the biggest reasons. i truly miss a manual.

I am in Colorado- 5000 feet elevation. My Fit does just fine. In the mountains here @ 8000-10000 feet , my Fit with an AT does better than my former Subaru.

dont you all be jealous i'm selling my awesome Mugen retrofitted HID Fit.... you can all still buy it.

There is nothing quite like turbo power with plenty of torque for load conditions like hills. More load = more power, up to a point.

Myself, I'd enjoy the Fit, pay it off, and save the money.

As a former subaru owner (and my father still owns one) I will warn you now, they a needy cars. You have to take care of them exactly right, make sure you use the right parts (mine would on run right with one brand of spark plug wires, just to give you an idea) and with a turbo, you really need to keep up on oil changes.

That said, they are fantastic cars and I still miss mine, though I was done with it when it needed a second new engine, after we put in a fully rebuilt one 48,000 miles earlier.

my next car is a WRX for sure.....at least your doing it the right way and not financially crippling yourself to do it.

Yes, take special care of the WRX (esp oil changes--turbos *really* heat the oil). Be aware, also, that turbo power-output is adversely and dis-proportionally affected by high altitude, more so than naturally-aspirated engines.

Hmm, most of the traditional thinking says the opposite, a well designed turbo is less affected at altitude than NA, but not going to get into it.
