Who owns a roof rack?
#2
Hello,
I have Yakima rack{Q towers} with 60" bars {carry 2 canoes} . If set up right and adhere to factory measurements of placement on the vehicle,no roof buckling issues,or rack loss. Factory weight limit 125 load pounds. Have thousands of miles at highway speeds on my set up with no incidents. If you carry long light objects tie downs are a must. You will loose any rack system from wind gust or traffic turbulance with the load wrenching the rack upwards or sudden side shift . Tie downs will help with wind generated uplifting or side shifting. How I solved tie down points are in the pictures.

I do.
Yakima (Qtowers) with the shorter bars. Had it on my GS-R as well and upgraded the Clips only. I have the Fairing on the Fit in the photos below as it was my first trip with the Yak on the FIT and we were taking a long journey - wanted to cut down on noise. Don't recommend the Fairing for Fuel economy purposes - drops the Fit's economy by 2-3mpg. Have wind Jammers on now to cut down on noise.

I've got a Thule tower system on mine. I picked Thule over yakima just because Thule systems are made for every specific car, Yakima is made for a group of cars. I've never heard bad about either one, I just liked the little extra security. No pics to speak of tho because I don't leave it on.
