Honda Fit/Jazz Si?

Don't get too excited - it's just a concept.

Honda fits Jazz Si debut onto Geneva stand

sad for an Si. HX with great economy makes sense but for an Si, they should have dropped an R18 in there. Tiny bit more weight and 22hp more would make it a respectable upgrade. Economy wouldn't suffer much either... probably 1-2mpg... maybe not even that with the extra torque from the R18.

Losing their mind in general? Eh. Loosing their minds for calling this an "Si". Yes.

It's all good and just for them to want fuel economy but to badge something as an Si they shouldn't be using the same engine that's in the other Fit/Jazz models.. It doesn't even have a performance boost! Purely cosmetic from the looks of it..

The Si was not that special in the Del Sol, the 88-95 Civics, the Prelude, etc.

The Si generally just has different wheels/more luxury stuff, and this Fits that mold. And remember they don't get anything bigger than a 1.4 anyway, so its really indifferent just like the cars I listed.

This is true. I didn't think about that. I still don't think it will sell if it's much more than a $1.5k mark up though. Who knows..

Last thing and please no more threads about European standards and how the cars are badged, the Si badge was never anything in Europe. Please stop associating the US with the rest of the world, remember the world is not flat just as the US is not the end all be all. The performance models in Europe were badged with VTi or VTi-R or even TypeR. What model Si's were worthy of even the Si badge in the US...hmmmm I can only think of 1 really, the EM1 Civic with a B16A. The rest were by far mediocre when compared to the rest of the world and their counterparts on tap.

So does this Fit deserve an Si badge, by all means it does, because it is in Europe and not the US.

555 has a point, but I still would like to see Honda juice the Fit up a little more though

I would love to see a Fit come stock with an additional 30ps under the bonnet, but not by way of FI, I just love NA. Just wait till the next GF model, if that will be the chassis designator and Honda's new lineup of powerplants that will be rolling out.

Not that it will happen, but if there is ever a production K series Fit I will buy one the day they release to be ordered.

The K motor is pretty much dead...UNFORTUNATELY. That's also just like the CR-Z, Honda would not have been able to produce them fast enough if they released one with a K, hell even the K20 that came in the EP3 or the detuned K from the RSX-S. Possibly not have been able to produce them fast enough as the price would have also gone up easily a few thousand.

The solution is obvious, guys.

1.) Write Honda and ask them to commision me to make a legit Fit Type-R.

2.) Two trim levels: NA and FI.

3.) Everyone wins.
