Codes P0302 / P0303

Daughters 09 Fit Sport was at dealer 5 weeks ago for check engine light. Codes P0302 / P0303 miss fires cylinders 2 and 3. They replaced coil packs on both cylinders. Light came back on today. I checked codes and you guessed it P0302 / P0303. She's dropping car off tomorrow morning. The car has 29K on it. Anyone have suggestions

The factory service manual roughly says to check in order: the coil packs, the spark plugs, the injectors, then engine compression and letdown, then rocker arm, then a bunch of electrical connections. So spark plugs would be a good next step. That said, it's annoying that they are apparently throwing parts at the issue.

I dont know if thats a bad thing, since that takes essentially 29k off the odometer on those parts.

P0302 / p0303

Dealer had car 2 days. Problem turned out to be valve adjustment. They monitored it after resetting light and got 8 and 13 miss fires on #2 and 3 cylinders. Let it sit over night and did valve adjust retested and no miss fires. I'm thinking she had motion spring recall done about 4 months ago and they were no adjusted properly then.

Cool, thanks for following up with an update. Hopefully that was it and everything is fine now.

It seems like valve adjustments are one of the most common causes of misfires in the 1st gen Fit, maybe the 2nd gen is similar. I haven't seen as many 2nd gen owners with the same problem though.
