I just write it down on a piece of paper in the glove with a date.
The trip computer sometimes gets accidentally reset, plus you can't see the previous oil change history

Thanks for all the responses I am contemplating starting to trade every three years, I do not feel like screwing around with cars anymore! And am thinking that "dealer serviced" would be a good selling point.

Might as well track it on a general service form and keep it with the manual. Honda bundles a booklet with the manual for this purpose.

I do both. I have a service/fill up log. The dash is for quick looks.

I scan all my receipts, and link them to a spreadsheet with miles, comments and stuff so I can easily see (and calculate) the miles/time since the last similar service. I don't keep them in the glovebox (although I could on the same USB fob for my tunes). I'm weird. The next owner will get a flash memory drive.

Don't plan on selling the car. so it's just for my own memory.
Not saying it's bad, but I'm just lazy and it's good enough for me.

Just writing on the back of the envelope that holds my registration and insurance info so I can see it all in 1 shot is good enough for me versus having to flip through the booklet or view different pages at once with semi-oily hands.
I suppose if I get to enough maintenance where the back of theenvelope is filled up, then it's time to copy it over to a new envelope with smaller handwriting.

Steve244, I'm impressed. Your stat tracking reminds me a bit of this fellow Mathijs who tracks his hamster:

They all passed on to the big pipe habitat in the sky, many gradually and not suddenly with vet visits and a lot of tears.
All fully blogged and stats are fully tracked showing the decline in activity in the final days.

It's somewhat heartwrenchiing to read the last blog posts about each previous Lucy...accompanied usually a several month break mourning period before the next lucy.
