Potential New Buyer: Drivers Seat

Hi, New member here.

I would like to buy a 2012 Base AT Fit this week.

My biggest concern is the comfort of the drivers seat. In my test drive I noticed the drivers seat does not go back as far as I would like so I do not have the leg room I would like. But its not to bad so I will live with that. I'm about 6'2 and 185 lb.

But how is the support, comfort, lumbar support, and just over all comfort of the drivers seat?

All I read/hear about is the comfort of the rear seats.

Thanks!

I love my Fit, it's a great car for around the town driving. It is small and can park anywhere and the cargo area is amazing for a subcompact. With that said, the seats are not very comfortable for long drives. I visit my family often in another state and after the 3 hour drive, I do feel a little discomfort in my lower back. It's not unbearable, but I also can't imagine driving it across the country. I'm only 5'5 so I have plenty of leg room. If you take many long trips, you may want to consider other alternatives. But as a daily driver to and from work and to run errands, I can't think of a better car. HTH.

For me, driver's seat is fairly comfortable. The leg support could be a little better but others have fixed this issue by adding a washer or two under the front seat posts to give teh seat cushion a little more recline/leg support. i'll be doing this at some point. My commute used to be 35-40 minutes each way and it was comfy for me. (I'm 5'10', 175-189lbs depending on what holiday most recently passed) witha 5.5 hour drive to the in-laws, my legs are tired and my wife has stated more than once (at about the 2.5-3 hour mark) that we should have taken the Ridgeline. i'm usually good with 1 stop in the middle and a few minutes of walking around but still, my body is a bit on the "tired" side. not bad, but happy to see the inlaw's recliner or couch.

Hope this helps.

I'm 6'2" and...more than 185#. I drive about 150 miles a day, and have no issues with the seat or legroom.

Just drove from Ocala to Boca Raton - about 4 hours str8 and had no seat issues. My only concern is that the seat mat'l seems a little cheap and may not wear well?

They suck! IMO of course. Maybe the rest of guys are more FIT than me (pun intended) but test driving the car for a few minutes will not tell you how good the seats are. For me, I did not noticed this problem 'til I took it to work... about an 1 hour 15 to 1 1/2 hour drive.
I guess if you are old and have some back problems like me, the issues will manifest everytime you take your car for a long ride.

I'm 6' and drove 5hours to Detroit, picked up something and drove 5 hr back yesterday. 0 discomfort. The gas tank last ~300 miles, so by the time my legs were getting ancy, I needed gas and bathroom anyway.
