Thanks for all the info! Hopefully things will go relatively smoothly for my install with all of your suggestions. I'll keep you all posted.

I can fit them in a few ovens. Not the biggest headlights I've baked. LS460s sure are massive and weigh something like 25lbs each.

Test fit them before you turn the oven on!

For those who wanted to see what black trim looks like on CBP (not retrofited, but you get the idea):

sorry to hear that you're giving up on this. i think it looks great!

looking at your car makes me really want to do this too.

other than the baking to take it apart, was the rest of the installation pretty easy?

Just wanted to mention that, it is technically illegal to not have amber reflectors in the front and red reflectors in the back.

I say technically, because it is listed as a federal law (applies to all states)... but my aftermarket headlights don't have the amber reflectors and I haven't gotten a ticket for them (in any state I hit while on my road trip). I think it's just because it's harder for a cop to pay attention to that spot. I want the clear tail lights from the Fit Hybrid (no red reflectors)... but I think cops would more likely notice those.

And as for aiming... the actual recommendation is... at 25 ft, they should be level or at most, a few inches down. As much as I dislike this guy... here's the how-to for aiming...

^ Modifying a DOT-approved part is also technically illegal. I tell customers the truth when they ask.

Yes I'm ok w/ violating such laws, I feel it's the same as jaywalking.

No, I'm not giving up on it, changed my mind. Eventually going to have it done professionally though. It's easy once they're open, but baking is a p.i.t.a.
