cruise control question

Hi everyone.
For those with cruise control. When you press the main cruise button, is it a momentary press or does it "click" and stays in(like the fog lights switch)?

Not sure on the newer GE chassis but for the older GD its a push in the cruise control's power button once it stays sunk in (Cruise on, not set); push in a second time and the button pops back out (Cruise off).

Thanks.
I have a base ge and tried to wire switches to the cruise control terminals. It energizes but doesn't engage. I'll keep working on it tomorrow.
