Bought mine from Priority Honda Saturday - loving it so far.

It was a little steep, given sales tax, administrative fees, options etc, With interest and everything the final price will be $26,400 after every payment is made. (72 mo loan, dropped to 66 payments due to paying biweekly.

but on the plus side, 6 year warranty, Engine has a lifetime warranty, Free oil changes AND NC state inspections for LIFE and... they even have a special deal for the ladies, if you take your vehicle to be serviced on a Wednesday ladies get a free manicure (so needless to say when my oil is due, I'll make the appointment for wed and let my GF take the Fit in.

Holy crap. I paid $18500 OTD, got my lifetime powetrain warranty, put down some cash, and financed the remainder for 2.0% for 60mos.

$26,400 seems high even after interest.

What was your OTD price?

Sticker is 15,530
Finance charge 6,906.22
GAP ins 750
Tag fee 30
Certificate of Title fee 40
(Note - filed banruptcy last year, so I expected to take a hit here)
Service contract 2200.00
on-line filing 99.00
Document fee 499.00

I'm mildly miffed over how little I got for my trade in... but that's my own damn fault for not taking it to carmax

While some might consider the service contract excessive, I'm paranoid as I'm not much of a mechanic and I know in 4 to 5 years it's likely to have a few things go wrong with it.

New owner of a Raz Blue Sport AT. $19200 OTD. 2% financing thru my credit union.

It's the car my '76 Civic should have been!

Nice! I got the same 1.9% w/ NFCU. Feels great to not be throwing away so much money in interest!

Congrats on the car, need pics! :)

Picked up my Fit today, OTD was 17.8K for the 2012 base model, automatic transmission in polished metallic. Got a good rate of 1.45% for 60 months.

Went and checked out the Ford Fiesta and the Chevy Sonic and like the Fit a lot more and the price was almost the same as the Fiesta SE with the same options.

Now to start replacing some parts and get some nicer/bigger wheels. Might even try to get some of the sport body options after the winter.

Got my 2012 AT Base Fit for invoice $

Went to Dublin (CA) Honda to test drive Fit base & Sport yesterday...asked if any summer incentives going on for it. (I had checked Edmunds, they showed none going on for the Fit.) Salesman said "No, but I'll sell one at our invoice cost", and mentioned $16,491 for the base AT model, which is what I had seen on Edmunds. Total including tax license and a set of floor mats (at a 10% reduction) totaled $18,322.37. Paid $8k by check, financed rest at 2.49% for 5 years thru Honda Finance. (My credit rating is really high.)

I thought I had bought my last brand new car in '85. But due to a stroke can't wrench on clunkers any longer, and needed to replace my old MT S10 PU. I love this little white base AT Fit, was happy to find these forums. I've ordered a sunshade and center console from Amazon, considering a mild tint on rear windows, considering a set of leather ?Classico? seat covers, pricey but beautiful from eBay...even if I end up paying a professional to put them on, as I have limited right hand use (which is why I had to dump my manual trans truck for an automatic.) Other than my old truck I've had (used) luxury cars forever, and miss leather seats, but wasn't going to pay dealer almost $2k for them to have some made up custom.

For yearsI used to modify cars...hopped up a 242 Volvo, built 1 BMW 320i out of 2 wrecks, even build Samurais into decent rockcrawlers while still street legal, (got mine to go where Jeeps couldn't, and put 250k miles on it. ) Wish I could still wrench on cars, I'd be working on this every night!

Checking in with a 400-mile impression of my 2012 Fit Sport AT after 10 days. I also have a 2005 CR-V LX 2WD, which I will keep, and can't help but compare the Fit to the CR-V. If I had plenty of money I would have bought another CR-V, but I've got 5 more years of putting kids through college and need to save money where I can, and with one out of the nest already I don't need to haul as many around.

Accessibility was very important to me. I am almost 6'3" and am generally big. I'm older and my knees don't like to get into or out of a car with a low seat. The Fit's seat is not too close to the pavement and there is actually a little more knee room than the CR-V when entering and exiting the Fit. It feels like there is slightly less leg room than the CR-V, but it is not uncomfortable or even noticeable, although that impression could change on a multi-hour drive. Head room is more than adequate for me with about 4 inches to spare. I don't feel cramped at all in the driver's seat. The view out the windshield is great. I can see everything and lose awareness that I am driving a small car. The rear view is adequate except when the right-side, rear seat head rest is left up. It blocks a significant chunk of the rear window.

The car handles better than the CR-V and the ride feels slightly smoother. Noise is similar. The seat offers about the same leg support and feels more comfortable to me than the CR-V. I find the steering wheel-mounted radio controls to be quiet convenient, but that convenience is is offset by the terrible placement of the front seat cup holders. One would think that with 10 cup holders Honda's crack engineering team could have found a place for at least one of them within arm's reach of the driver after a dozen years of fine tuning this marvel. My choices are to awkwardly reach behind me, lean forward 5 or 6 inches and maneuver around the gear shift, or lean forward and reach left to the dashboard cup holder. The dashboard isn't too bad except that the A/C vent blows straight across the top of my hot coffee. To be philosophical I suppose the cup holder placement is the result of compromises. If that's the case Honda has probably made the right compromises. I'd hate to see knee room reduced for the sake of getting a cup holder 3 inches closer.

Gas mileage so far has met my expectations. I am getting about 24.5 in my suburban environs and 36.5 on my interstate commute. The fuel mileage readout is teaching me how to get better mileage without annoying other drivers.

Picked up our 2013 on Saturday. Fit Sport in Midnight Plum with the protective package - which included: floor mats, door edge guards, cargo area spill tray, locking wheel nuts and I forget what else. $18,700 plus dealer doc fees etc. Dealer gave us $2900 for our 2004 Hyundai Elantra, so we were out the door for $18,600. Paid $995 cash for the 7 year 100k mile extended warranty.

We used the Costco Auto Purchase program, which allegedly gave us the Invoice price, however the Invoice price appeared to match the MSRP, as the dealer advised that Honda make no money on these things.

For what we got tho and the price they gave us on the trade, I'm happy with what we paid for this fun little car.

Test drove a Fiesta, Mazda 2, Fiat 500 and Toyota Yaris and the Honda killed em all.

Awesome! The midnight Plum looks way better than what I imagined after looking at the color swatch!

statik2083 08-13-2012 08:25 PM

I agree, very nice it's almost black, but with that nice addition of color!

Pity they didn't do a midnight red or a midnight blue, I'm just not a purple fan lol

RiNkY 08-13-2012 08:56 PM

That photo doesn't truly do it justice. In the shade it really does look black, then in the sun the pearl really sparks and looks awesome.

cjecpa 08-13-2012 09:10 PM

It is great to see the 2013 Fit's out maybe with the front change on the 2012 we will start seeing more aftermarket grilles and lips. Can't wait to see this color in person. Congratulations on your purchase.

connor55 08-13-2012 09:13 PM

Hey what are you doing here, this is the 2012 thread! :p

Just curious if there's any new additions to the 2013 fit other than the new colour?

DominusTecum 08-13-2012 09:20 PM

Just bought a new 2012 Fit base MT in black. I was driving a 2008 Ford Focus, which my girlfriend totaled last month, the day after I reluctantly started to let her drive it. (Knew I should have listened to that little voice!)

The Fit is a really great car. It feels as well-made and solid as my Focus, but it's quicker, more maneuverable, better on gas, and vastly more functional, with all the interior room and seat configurations. I test-drove a Mazda3 (unimpressed -felt like it was trying too hard to be "fun" when it just wasn't...) a Hyundai Elantra (nice, with lots of bells and whistles, but not very exciting) a Yaris, and a Corolla. (The Corolla was a bit more comfortable than the Yaris, which just screamed "cheap!") The Fit, on the other hand, just feels excellent. It's head-and-shoulders above the competition in terms of simply getting everything right.

My local dealer had 4 Fit autos, no manual. I insisted on getting the stick, and he managed to track one down at a dealer in Florida, about a hundred miles away. I was a bit concerned, because my sole experience with a stick involved a friend's farm truck in a hayfield, about 10 years ago, and one 20 minute drive on some back roads, at around the same time. The salesman gave me some tips in an empty parking lot, though, and within 15 minutes, I had the hang of it with no problems.

I paid around $16,900 after all the fees. It'll end up being more than that, though, with the finance charges, but they're not too outrageous... I bought my Focus used last year, and was paying $330/mo @ 6.9%. With this one, I'm paying $289/mo @ 3.09%...... sounds good to me! Ordinarily, I try to buy used cars to avoid the depreciation hit, but with the Fit, the used ones were selling for almost as much as the new ones, so there was no point. Financing for a used car tends to be much higher anyway, so it made sense to just buy new, and I am very glad I did.

Finally got a pic worth showing on the forums

Finally got some NICE pics - just had the windows tinted too.
My girlfriend and I debated names... I was first going simply with "Shadow" but she said too common... ok, knowing her love of all things Japanese I said "Kage" (Japanese for "shadow") to which she proposed "Shisou" (Shadow of Death)

So now I present "Shisou"

And for all the geeks out there, yes that IS a Firefly sticker on the back :vtec:
