2012 Fit Buyers Check in!!! Welcome and Congrats!

Yes my price was about halfway between invoice and MSRP before T,T & L. That was with no accessories. So it could have been better, but for a better deal I would have needed to wait longer to buy.

Can you post a picture?

My wife and I bought a 2012 Honda Fit Sport AT in Silver. We got it for around 18.8k out the door. I used to drive an Acura CL and had been driving my mom's 3.2TL occassionally, so my biggest fear was dropping down to such a smaller engine. I've been pleasantly surprised with the car's acceleration. Overall, we're really happy with the purchase and I look forward to really breaking it in. At this time the big thing I want to do is get tints, but since I live in Brooklyn I'm concerned about getting tickets for tints since the law is so stringent in NY state. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on that?

There was another thread on the forum with regards to the tinting and the poster mentioned going with 20% tinting on the back windows. Higher tinting led to poor night vision.

If your reason is #2, 50% tint works well. I've never been pulled over before because of my tint. Here it is on my car, I have 50% all around.
If you're trying to do reason #1, #2, and #3, I would do 50% on the front and whatever you want on the rest. That's the safest way.
Cheers!
P.S. (I don't have a Fit yet but I got rid of my SC300 in preparation)

Just a question for those who know.
Are the 2011 and 2012 headlights the same? Apart from the chrome vs blackout
From what I've read the Front Mugen parts for the 11 do not work for the 2012 models, such as the grill and front lip. Is the only way to get the Mugen parts to work is to convert the front to 2011?

You would indeed need to do a bumper swap to use a Mugen lip unless they introduce one for the 2012+ bumper. Rear will still be the same.

Hi everyone. I tried to get a Fit Sport back in 2008 but there were very few in my area, so I settled for a '08 Civic. It was a great car but I just couldn't get over being denied the Fit, so when my girlfriend suggested I get a new car and sell the Civic to her I didn't hesitate. This October I got a 2012 Fit Sport AT (Alabaster Silver) and have over 3,000 miles on it.
Other than a 3rd party remote starter that the dealer had installed for me the car is stock, and the only things I am planning to add are some stick-on window visors and possibly the Honda center armrest. It's great to find this site where other Fit owners are sharing experiences and giving good advice.

Here's a pic of my PMM Fit Sport MT. I picked it up Dec. 15 for ~$18300 OTD. Coming from an '08 VW R32 I was worried that the drop in power would be tough, but every time I drive it I love it. Honda did right with this car.

$16.6k for a 2012 Silver Sport Manual 3 days ago
After 10 years of only daily driving a 5th gen Prelude SH this will be my first new car purchase ever. My wife and I have been sharing my Lude as our only car for too long now. Now that my bachelor downtown apartment livin days are over and trips to ikea or luggin a 17" sea kayak are too difficult, its time for a more practical car.
I'm still on my first half tank of gas and getting used to the shifting and handling. It feels so big from the inside, yet looks so small from the outside. Despite much less power available, it doesn't feel as sluggish as reviews say. The quiet ride and high seating position is actually a welcome change from the loud low Prelude. I'll of course hoon the old lude on the weekends. We wanted white, but silver was the closest thing with MT and perhaps a 2" drop and tints will make it all good. I guess I was unrealistic on the price of a new car and thought I was paying too much, but I suppose it wasn't such a bad deal. I'm so used to buying used, but that market is holding it's value too much right now. It just made sense to buy new and the quieter ride of the 2012's sealed the deal...

Having ordered it back on Oct. 4, I finally took delivery on my 2012 OBM Fit Sport M/T last night - yahoo!! The total out-the-door, including tax (7%), title, registration and plates was $18,690. Although delivered in pristine condition, I started my own detailing with clay bar and wax last night. So far, all looks good. Can't wait to see the color in the daylight, probably not until this weekend, unless I call in sick before.
Mods planned: Mugen exhaust, arm rest, Magnet Bra (well, at least give it a try!) Pics to follow as soon as I can get it outside in the daylight!

For me the OBM finish was available from 2 dealers. My only other choice was milano red and the OBM really grabbed me.
Looking forward to seeing your pics!

Finally, the rain stopped - got pics...
Anyway, here are some snaps. It's a grey day here in upstate NY so the color seems a bit subdued - I'll have to take more when it's sunny...
