2012 Fit Buyers Check in!!! Welcome and Congrats!

There are some minor changes to the 2012. You can not buy any exterior front spoiler that weren't specifically built for the 2012 since the front bumper is a little different. But for all other internal modifications, they should be interchangeable. I have a 2012 and I've already installed a Mugen short shifter, autodimming rear view mirror, retrofitted my headlamps with HID projectors and am in the process of installing the JDM rear headlights.

Looks like the first one is for the 2009-2011 Sport and the second is for the base model. 2012 lips aren't on their website yet.

Do you think there are enough 2012 owners out there right now that would be interested? Or...do you think they are going to make one anyways because they have made one for every other model?

Well here's the thing. As I've seen on this forum, many people flake out once it's time to actually submit a payment. JDP made the lip for the Fit base after 10 people put a deposit down on it. He'll also need someone in his area (I suppose I'd be willing too) to design and test fit the lip.
I actually found this thread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gaug...front-lip.html
Also mentions it would be ~$275 for it.

Congrats to all of you new 2012 owners! They all look great! If anyone has some 2012 Sport wheels that that would like to unload, please send me a PM. They will look great on my black 2009 Fit sport and I am looking to buy a set. Thanks! I am in the VA/DC area.

Wife and I just bought a 2012 Sport AT. It was $18,827. $17,540 base plus options, mainly the remote starter which will be niiiicceee in Boston winters. I used the Consumer Reports referral system, which locks in the base price so there is no haggling. It was nice. The only dealer pressure was with the warranties, which wasn't even bad and easy to resist.
I have the manual, but pick up the car in a few days. Is there any certain way I should drive it at the beginning? The last new car I bought was a Saturn in 1998 and the manual told me to drive it at a consistent and high speed for about 50 miles sometime in the first month. I don't see anything like that in the Fit manual.

Are you saying there are only 13 FIT MT cars at dealers in the US?

Beautiful car, best looking of the Fits. Well.....it looks just like mine except for the area of the transmission.
One thing we have been trying to get used to-when you stop at the light there is no engine sound. It is quiet in gear with the foot brake applied. There is no vibration and so you think the car has stalled.
Our Red Fit goes on its first long maiden voyage, around 500 miles. Curious to see the freeway mpg. In town it is getting 28-29 mpg. Wonder what the sweet spot speed will be to get in the high 30's on the freeway?
We also got the J D Power survey for new car owners. It listed all the possible problems. We have had none. The only area that we added was the problem with cross winds at higher speeds.

I've read a few threads on the forum mentioning the factory fill is break-in oil. I would say yes!

The shift knob is actually a knob I bought for my old acura rsx type s. The thread on the shifter is the same for all honda's, so it fit right on. It has a really nice weighted feel to it. Its made by Karcepts. Heres the link if your interested

And no, there is only 13 Milano red Fit Manual trans cars in the US. I was very lucky as this one was on the lot, right by my house

it really scared me at first! I thought the car stalled on my lol. I looked down and it was still running! This car is soo quiet! I am averaging about 32.9 Combined city and highway driving. Its deffinently a change from my corvette which was getting 20 combined and costing me $60 bucks to fill up every time with premium.
