Things to check for before the warranty expires.

I have a 2009 Fit Sport with Navi.

I'm about 25 days before my 3 year factory warranty runs out. Anybody have any advice on what I should check for before the warranty runs out to get it fixed. I actually have a the 8year/120k HondaCare warranty on it so I guess I'm more concerned with things that are not covered by HondaCare. HondaCare is decent but not fully comprehensive like the original warranty. I think some of the exclusions are rattles and squeaks. Never had a warranty issue in the 3 years I owned the car. My only trips to the dealership were for the LMS and going back and forth to replace the cracked cowl. I was regretting buying the extended warranty but I'm glad I got it now. I noticed that the HondaCare warranty on the internet went up quite a bit since 2008 when I bought mine. It's above $1200 or so now, on my 2009 and even to put one on a new 2012. I paid $895 which was what I was quoted on the internet back then and matched by my dealership. But it looks like I won't be using the warranty much, car is rock solid for 3 years so I expect it to be for 8 years. But I like the peace of mind and with the free towing included for 8 years, it works out to be a better deal since I'm not paying AAA at $60 a year or so.

It's a Honda. No need to worry. I blasted through my warranty in about a year and have zero concerns at this point.

The only warranty issues I've had were with the door panels and the shifter knob (MT).

The panels on both side cracked right in the area where your elbow would rest in that crook of the vertical panel and the horizontal armrest.

If you have a MT, check the shift knob to see if the rubber outer portion is separating from the solid inner part.
