New fit buyer

I'm looking to purchase a honda Fit, I had been search around trying to find out what the difference between 07-08 and 09-12, All I found is that the new one is a bit bigger. are all 09-12 call GE08?? or they call differently?? Can 09+ aftermarket parts fit on 2012 fit??

Will the GD3 fit armrest console work on 2012???
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/sale...r-console.html

or any other one works with 2012??

yes

yes, for the most part.

if you look at the pictures for the 2012 and compare to prior GEs, you'll see a couple of differences in the front bumper and the wheels. So, the Mugen lip for 09-11 model years won't fit on the 2012... and pretty much any other brand lip that are listed as such.

no

GEs have an official OE armrest you can order... Honda Fit Accessories - Genuine 2009-2012 Honda Fit Interior Accessories or Honda Center Armrest Fit - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories for example. And officially NOT for manual transmission, though many of us suspect Honda says that to avoid potential legal issues (if someone mis-shifts by bumping into the armrest). I have it in my M/T Fit.

There's also the "unofficial" armrest... by Zeta, 09 + Honda Fit Storage Armrest.

2012 Honda Fit - Specifications - Official Site

a couple of others too

On Sport but not Base:
Paddle shifters
Rear Sway bar
Fog lamps
leather wrapped steering wheel
map lights
Cargo area tie down (4 vs 2)
and various indicator lights (fog, security, "Sport mode gear")

I don't know if the Base officially comes with keyless entry (the unit is in, just need the key fob).

but can't those item be purchase after?? From my understanding, the sport one comes in a package. As far as for the rear sway bar, is there an option for aftermarket one??

you can TRY to buy paddle shifters... but I'm betting that you'll also have to mess with the ECU.

But yes, for the most part you can buy the part and add it, or in the case of the RSB, some aftermarket equivalent (the OE RSB is built into the suspension, aftermarket will attach to the suspension differently). And of course the Fog lamp will be slightly different when added to the Base compared to the Sport (unless you buy the sport bumper also).

I have no idea about the indicator lights though.

Just bought mine yesterday

White mt 2012 base
$15500
No destination charge
6 percent md tax
374 lic tag and title
200 documentation fee
That's all!

But I'm terribly annoyed
Wife,s iPhone 4 works with the USB jack but my ipad2 does not!!
Dealer tells me afterthefact ipad2 not comparable! That's one of the primary reasons I bought this car since I am on the road a lot!

I would have expected it to work too...

The SOP on reluctant ipods connecting to Fits is to reset them. Dunno if ipads have a similar function.

Well bought! MT Base Fits in white are rare beasts.

I had to order my 2012 Manual Sport and it is being built in Japan even as we speak. Manuals are hard to find.

They didn't have a single MT in the whole state when I was looking (end of Oct.).
