Swift springs on coils?

Has anyone done it? Planning on doing it on my d2s since they're to bouncy for me. Just love how low the d2s can go

That's probably why it's so bouncy.

You can order custom linear rate springs from Swift with your own specified O.D. and spring rate you could throw on your D2s. Contact Swift.

i'd be suprised if regular Swift drop springs would fit on the D2 perches.

^^^ Yeah. I've read numerous BMW owners' are swapping the springs with Swift on their Koni coilovers with rave reviews.

Let us know if you do.

Mine came with SWIFT springs actually. I'm sure you will be happy if you do change over, but just make sure you get rates that fall inline with what your D2s are valved for.

I hope so the guy said they're going to be 5kg springs. Just hate how my front wheels comes off the ground on bumpy highways

I would think that'd be pretty comfy. What rates are you running on the D2s right now?

You could probably call D2 to get the spring length.

I tried they couldn't tell me the length and as far as rates goes on the D2s I have no idea. Going to jack it up in the morning and call swift again.

Starting to have doubts now. Do you guys think I'll bottom out? Car is about 4" off the ground and with the 5kg wouldn't it be too soft? Not sure though just want to get rid of the bounce.

Which coils did you get?

The lowest point of the car is about 4"? That's at about what mine is at, 98mm from the lowest part of the car to the ground. When you say you are bouncing and talking about your front wheels coming off the ground, I think your coils are not doing their job properly and spring rate is not going to matter. Do the coils have adjustment for the compression/rebound? Possibly you have them set way too hard. Or being that you are low, your suspension geometry up front is out of whack. Anything lower than 25mm requires roll-center adjustment. Too many people just want the look without doing the job properly and in turn the car handles worse with coils than it did with stock sussy. Most may not even realize it handles worse if they are not out beating on it like there is no tomorrow and the placebo effect is going on in the head thinking the car is improved, because it looks better to the eye.

Definitely check the rebound/compression settings on the coils. Put them to full soft and drive the same road(s) where you experience the front tires lifting from the ground. I have 12kg/8kg rates on mine and for daily driving I'm running 10clicks from full soft up front and 7clicks from soft out back. On circuit it goes to 14clicks and 15clicks (fr/rr).

How are 5k springs bouncing you that much? Something seems off about this...

My old coilovers also came with Swift Springs, but they too were J's Racing N1 by Crux...with 16k/14k spring rates on a 2100 lb car.

^^ Yeah. I called swift to see what springs I should get they said 5kg but I'm a little worried I might bottom out. Oh and ride height isn't 4inches off ground it's actually 2 1/2 lol

They probably suggested that spring rate because of the coils you have as it's possible the internals are not up to par with a higher rate spring and going higher will blow them out. Or without knowing the internals, playing it safe by suggesting a lower rate to give a more comforting ride. As low as you are, you are most likely not thinking of performance driving and are going for looks and I'm only saying this because you didn't take into account that going that low without other actions you have really messed up the handling of the Fit.

You contacted D2 and they couldn't tell you the spring rates that come with the suspension? I don't even see how they could set the internals up if they are not sure what rates they are using from the get go.

Hope you finally get it all sorted out.

IMO 5K is way too low. I would hope D2 could handle 8k at least without issues, if not, that's sad.
