2012: What is everyone paying?
New to the forum, first post! Great info. Really happy to find this place.
I'm selling my 2005 Honda Element and shopping for a 2012 Fit as we speak. Was wondering what if any, price data can ge found here. In other words, what are people paying?
I looked at all the standard sites (Edmunds (TMV), KBB, etc.), but I'm looking for real world data. [PS - These sites say I should be paying around $18,250.00 for a Sport wo/ Navi]
If you purchased a 2012 Fit Sport or Fit Sport w/ Navi in the last 30 days, please post your price here.
Thanks in advance for your help!

It is possible to get them into the $17,500 dollar range on a 12 Fit Sport Automatic including delivery charges, However I think the 18,000 range is much more common. There is one dealer in Torrence, CA who is supposidly selling them for $17,570 and NO propack etc... how he is doing this I am not sure.

Not so TrueCar
Yeah I tried that. Got a low price of $17,323 for the Sport w/Auto and wo/Navi. Went all the way through and got the dealer names and contact info then I contacted them. They all played dumb when I quoted that price and told them where I got it.
Great looking site/tool.......just don't think its worth a sh*t when it comes to negotiation.
Bait-N-Switch.

Car could finally arrive off the truck this week!
Made that mistake. Had dealer calls constantly for a month.

Interesting....
You guys are all getting some pretty good pricing. Here is what I have so far:
If you drop a price here, please let me know if it is 'all in' (i.e. tax, doc fee, processing, etc.) or for just for the car (before all the BS fees and the 'tax man' gets in).

Done!
Alright everyone, thanks for your help. Pulled the trigger on a Milano Red 2012 Sport w/Auto. Here is what it cost me:
That puts me at almost $240 better that what Edmunds says I should expect given their TMV number, which is normally 'spot on'. Figured dealer made under $300 on the deal. Seems fair as they need to eat too.
My first FIT. Pretty excited. Thanks for all your input. See ya around here on the boards
- Car: $17,280.00
- Freight: $770.00
- Doc Fee: $398.00
- Tags: $54.00
- Tax: $541.50 (on car AND Freight combined)
- TOTAL: $19,044.50 - Out The Door

Looks like your sales tax on the car is only 3%. That's cheap... It's 8% here in Tennessee.
But North Carolina does have a state income tax (while we don't).
Congrats on your new car...I'm sure you love it.

I am right now looking for a 2012 Honda Fit Sport AT (no navigation system--I already have a TomTom XL350TM GPS, so nav is superfluous).
Given that I will trade in my Honda Civic (according to Kelly Blue Book, the trade-in value is around US$2,700), can I get a new Fit Sport AT for around US$18,000 "out the door" including sales tax and destination charges?
(Note to mods: please move this message to appropriate forum section if necessary.)

I paid $17,100 - after tax, dealer conveyance fee, and new registration, it came to $18,950. There's not a lot of room to play with when it comes to Fits. The sticker price really isn't much higher than the invoice.

Final numbers
There really seems to be some wild differences in prices paid by everyone. I wonder if we are all talking the same thing. For instance..I rarely see anyone talking about 'Freight' which everyone in theory, should be paying as the cars are coming from Japan. This fee is broken out on the sticker.
In an attempt to clear things up....I'll drop in the spreadsheet I used for shopping for my car. I left the dealer names in for all of you that me be shopping in the Raleigh/Duram area.
Here is what this spreadsheet was based on:
The Edmunds price shown was based on their TMV figure.
