#141
Hello Everyone!
Im new to the forum and located in Hollywood, CA and I purchased my 2012 Honda Fit Automatic Base in charcoal grey last night for $17,616.00 OTD! This included Tax, Title, Fees etc.
I did not get the extended warranty, GAP insurance or the LoJack thing. I forgot to ask about Car Mats so I will have to buy those seperately.
I really liked the sales guy who worked with me so if anyone in LA needs a recomendation to buy a honda PM me and Ill give you his info. He was really great.
I'm very happy and excited about my purchase! Time to find some car mats!

That's a good price. I paid $17,250 OTD for my MANUAL base and that's with Utah taxes where are lower, although our fees may be higher.
The extra cost for the automatic is easily another $700+ OTD. So you got a good buy.

Picked up our base manual in polished metal last Saturday:
Vehicle Price: 15179
Taxes: 1003
Registration: 33.50
Dealer fee: 250
OTD: 16466
this was after emailing all the dealers in the area, getting the lowest price, and then asking our local guy to match or beat it. I feel pretty good.

what gdhi11 said. I had the advantage of having 15 Honda dealers within 75 miles. I made a list of who had Base manuals in stock and went to work with a zillion emails and follow-up emails. When I got a few low offers I forwarded those around and asked other dealers if they could beat them.
Finally I got one dealer about 50 miles away who said he could get me the 16,466 OTD price. At that point I emailed the closest dealer who had the color I wanted and said I would buy from them this week if they could match that price. They agreed and a week later I'm driving a new fit.
So keep pressing on them and pit them against each other (without being a jerk about it). Also just telling dealers that you have an offer for "X" won't get them to do much - forward them the other dealer's email offer and they'll usually respond.

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have found this forum to be extremely helpful and there's a ton of great info! Thanks everyone.
I purchased a 2012 Fit Sport with Automatic Transmission with out Navigation in the Orangeburst Metallic for $19,000 OTD.
This breaks down to:
Car + Destination fee: $17,988.35
Tax (NC 3%): $539.65
Dealer Admin Fees: $398.00
Tags/Registration Fees: $74.00
TOTAL OTD: $19,000.00
I agreed to the price on the car on July 23. However when I negotiated the price that day, the dealer didn't actually have the car on the lot (they thought they did at the time but when they went outside to grab the keys turns out the orange one they had was actually a manual). I picked up the car last week on 7/30 after their next shipment came in. Looking back, I wish I would have tried to negotiate for at least a free oil change or something after having to wait an entire week to actually get my car. This was my first time purchasing a car and I'm feeling like I got a pretty fair price on it.
Love driving my new Fit!
Cheers!

I bought at Leith Honda of Raleigh. Free oil changes for life would have been great! What color did you end up going with?

Google Photo Album
I've added a i-VTech SOHC decal to the rear doors at the bottom and also shot a picture of how I got my sunshade to work (Jumbo pop up one from Walmart)

Hey guys thanks for all the info its been most helpful.
I've got a quote from a dealer here in Ohio for $17,800 OTD for a 2012 Base Auto. This is after 6.5% sales tax and everything else.
I'm surprised to see some of the best deals (17,600 or so) are being reported on here from cali, which I thought had higher sales tax. Do delivery charges offset the tax difference, or am I just not looking at as good of an offer as I thought?

Hi all. First post
Just picked up a Fit Sport A/T for 18,800 OTD.
I'm located in the bay area, California. I purchased the car from Anderson Honda in Palo Alto. Apparently, they are trying to clear out their 2012 fit models. I believe all of their A/T fits are on discount. The base model was quoted for 14,900 while the sport was 16,900. Thought it was a great deal and im happy with my purchase!
I worked with Leonardo. He was great. Happy to be here and looking to contribute (i hope)!

Whoa, that's a hell of a deal for a Fit Sport. Can you let me know who your salesperson was? Looking for a Fit and at that price I would not mind a Sport. AutoWest Honda quoted me $17954 OTD for a Base. Judging from the price above with an estimate of taxes + random fees of around $1800, the Base should be no more than $16700 OTD.
The salesman i worked with was named Leonardo. Really nice guy. He gave me the OTD price over the phone and i simply showed up and paid. I believe he said the sale ends today so hopefully you can get a hold of him!
He told me the fit base was going to be 14,900 before TTL. Good luck!

i originally went to autowest too. they quoted me 20,500 OTD for a fit sport auto.

I'm was then contacted by the internet sales department of three dealers, and the fun began. I had direct price quotes from two and the third was playing games, so I ignored them.
Bottom line, I brought a new red Fit Sport manual for $17,950 OTD

I bought my a/t 2012 raspberry metallic base used.
It had 5000 miles on it and was owned for 6 months.
I was set on that color and waiting for a perfectly used one to come to me.
It was owned by a family of five who needed more space. Only thing that didn't seem brand new was that there were minor scratches on the inner door handles and some weird smudges over the USB box
Came with the carpet floor mats, tint, and cargo tray (not sure if that's how they all come but I'm all about oem accessories. )
I paid 16888. Most auto bases were going for 17900 without that stuff so I think I got a deal.
Financing was horrible but I'm new to buying and I'll refinance in six months.

i paid invoice, cash, no trade. good deal. what i liked is there was no dealer-added options on the car.
will be getting my factory options from an online store this week which i will install myself that alone saves me hundreds total.

Hello, group!
I bought an Orangeburst Sport AT in Dallas yesterday (2012-08-13).
$18,001.00
Taxes: $1,164.12
Documentary Fee: $179.00
Title Fee: $62.75
License Fee: $38.00
State Inspection: $23.75
Total Drive Out: $19,468.62
No dealer add-ons. Dealer would not budge on the bogus "documentary fee." But after comparison-shopping the DFW-area dealers for a week or so, this seemed like a decent price. The only bad part is I had to drive to Big D to get it.

2013's are now hitting the lots - wait until your local dealer has one and you can negotiate a better deal on a 2012! We only picked up the 2013 because my wife loved the new Plum color, otherwise we'd have been all over a discounted 2012.
