I paid $19,008 out the door tt&l for my sport mt w/o navi. Dealer put on some useless stuff that I am sure I paid for like wheel locks and interior/exterior protection whatever that is. I did get an extra $1000 for my trade in so I was happy with the deal.

shit on a stick!

i just looked up MSRP for a Fit sport no addons in my area (Toronto, Canada)

18,780, but we pay 13% tax on that!, Tax alone is 2,639, plus 1300 for freight and PDI, plus 100 for a/c tax, 30 for tire tax.

So grand total for the Fit is $22,943

  • Doc Fee: $398.00
  • Tags: $54.00
  • Tax: $541.50 (on car AND Freight combined)
  • TOTAL: $19,044.50 - Out The Door

That puts me at almost $240 better that what Edmunds says I should expect given their TMV number, which is normally 'spot on'. Figured dealer made under $300 on the deal. Seems fair as they need to eat too.

My first FIT. Pretty excited. Thanks for all your input. See ya around here on the boards
They did better than $300. That "doc fee" is a nuisance fee, aka added dealer profit, not something required by the state or other agencies. Having said that, it's pretty typical among local dealers.

FWIW, I used to take my Del Sol VTEC to Autopark and they do good service at reasonable prices. I bought my 09 Fit at Leith in Raleigh on Capital because they had a better selection at the time. In early 09, I paid about 17.6K OTD for a manual Fit Sport/no Nav. I replaced the factory audio with a Pioneer AVIC F900-BT nav unit plus XM. The newer models have inflation and additional mandated safety gear to blame for the price jump. Honda also seems to sell all the Fits that they can make. I don't think I've ever seen a TV commercial for one.

No I have never seen a commercial for a Fit either. The closest is the one where all the Honda models are lined up, with the Fit last, of course. I always figured it was because they don't make much off it...supposedly.

Doc fees suck

Yeah, there is truth to that. I did give my Brother In-Law a call as I was closing the deal. He is the Sales Manager at a Mazda Dealer down in Charlotte and has been in the dealership business his whole career. He thought that "Doc Fee" was reasonable (they charge $250 more) and said that although it is @ the dealer's discretion, if I got them to cut it..they's move the fee somewhere else. According to him, in NC.....you really can't expect to get around it. Its just the nature of the beast in the car biz these days.

In his words "its a different game now..all you smart fu*ks know the invoice and we have to fight up from there. We gotta make money somewhere and we just aren't making it on the car anymore...not to mention...the Doc Fee goes direct to the dealership and not a cent to the salesperson."

Like in the Travel Agent business that for the most part no longer exists.....the Internet levels the playing field and introduces transparency. NO industry likes transparency.

Just got mine this past Saturday. A black Fit Sport 5MT w/o Navi for $18,550, out the door. I don't have the price breakdown with me but it's a pretty typical price around here. The dealer I went to was $200 lower than 5 other dealers in the area.

This is in the DC metro area, in northern Virginia.

OK. I didn't actually buy the car but this is what I got half way through negotiation from an LA/OC area dealership for a 2012 Honda Fit Sport AT - Polished Metal Metallic, in case anybody curious or want a reference point. I don't seem to see any quotes from the LA/OC area. They tried to sock me with a $1,060.26 "code alarm" system so that's why I said no and walked away. They wouldn't budge on the damn "code alarm". If I had said yes to the "code alarm" I would have paid the total of $20,677.52 for the damn Fit. What a bunch of idiots!

HTML Code:
Selling Price 17,900.00
Tax 1,391.51 (7.75% OC tax. I live in the OC)
Docs Fee 55.00
Tire Tax 8.75
License Fee 123.00
Reg/Tran/Title 100.00
County Fee 10.00
Electronic Filing 29.00
                    =========
Total 19,617.26
And yes. You're not seeing double on the "tax" line. That's how much we have to pay around here. But Moonbeam still don't think that's enough. He's trying to hose us with another percentage point increase in sales tax! Good luck getting the votes for more taxes!

I was able to get this price at a local dealer in central OC this afternoon. Message me if you want the dealer name. I was also able to trade-in my bad luck 2010 Fit Sport for $14,205.51 at the same dealer. I was in no position to negotiate the trade-in because of the accident. Carmax lowballed me @ $12,000 and 2 other places refused to buy it back or tried to sock me with a bunch of junks. Any way, I'm a happy camper again until another moron hit my car.

Yeah i really wanted a manual but it was the whole "one is being built and you can put a deposit on it and hope for the best" as much as i wanted a manual the the dealer i bought my Fit at came down on the auto enough to make it worth my while. They actually gave me a better price on the auto than the other dealer that had the manual coming by almost $300

This is in Alabama by the way

How are most of you guys paying nothing for taxes. My Sport MT was 19,900 out the door but I had almost $1700 in taxes and doc fees in arizona average around $400. Sweet jebus man!!!! I just look up edmunds TMV and pay that, that's what I do with all my cars. But some of the deals on here are outrageous...maybe not so much after you factor in the taxes and doc fees that we get stuck with.

edit: maybe I should just move, lol
