WOW!!! Got 34.8 MPG on my first tank of gas
Just bought my Fit about a week and a half ago, and refilled the tank for the very first time. Drove 263.9 miles and only needed to put 7.579 gallons of gas in it. That's an average of 34.8 MPG.
Of the 263.9 miles I drove, all were in town driving, with the exception of the 25-30 miles I drove on the interstate bringing the car home from when I bought it.
Unbelievable...espeically since my window sticker shows that I should get 27 around town.
Even better since I only had to pump regular unleaded in it, since all four of my other cars require premium. First time I've put regular unleaded in a car in years.

Welcome to one of the cheapest cars on the planet to own. Just wait until you go 10,000 miles before the Maintenence Minder tells you to change the oil. I'm averaging 38mpg over the life of our fit (about 33K miles) and most of my driving is country roads, Maybe 3-5% is highway
It's one of the most underrated vehicles out there and i'm not sure how they came up with the numbers. Most of the other manufactures claiming to get 40mpg in various vehicles aren't getting close to that in real world driving and many of us are surpassing the EPA numbers by HUGE margins.

Nice, I'm going to have to get used to putting regular in my car as well. My fit should arrive next week and I'm looking forward to it. With the great MPG I keep reading about here, mine should be silly good. Mostly flat where I live, my commute to work is 8 miles, 55mph, no stops. Even if I go all the way to Napa, it's just 25 miles, cruise control, 55mph with VERY few stops.
Gonna be great, glad to hear you're having success at the pump.

When I floor it, I get 22mpg or so, and if I made all the stop signs correctly it would drop to 20.
I never drove the mk2 turbo, but I was a bit disapointed by the feeling of the mk1 cooper S, I was expecting to drive the ultimate go kart but it felt about the same as a Fit (with a bit more oomph).
The mk2 is better I guess, at least the mini has plenty of room for tall drivers, compared to the fit (poor front leg room and seat comfort) and Miata.

the computer should be accurate +/- 1mpg of manually calculating. You can initialize the avg mpg display by clearing the trip miles (just cycle to this display and hold the button in until it clears). I normally do this at fill-ups...

Last trip to Maine I took I held it for the entire 1200miles I racked up. Kept the receipts for fuel used.
That included a round trip to Maine and a 4x6 trailer stuck behind, with a side trip to Boston back to Maine thrown in.
When I did the final fill-up and ran the numbers to compare it was nuts on.
36.5MPG w/ three adults and a loaded trailer for the Boston part.
You'll discover the Fit's MPG has all to do with your driving style - you're off to a good start!
