Install Bluetooth/Audio controls on a Canadian 09 Fit Sport?

I saw a DIY for installing audio controls on the Honda Fit, but with the new 2012's having OEM bluetooth, is it possible to mod an 09 Sport AT to use these features?

Right now my steering wheel looks like this (sorry about the large image but I can't resize it):

But I would like it to look like this:

Looks like you would need the new OEM Nav radio to do Bluetooth. I would save your cash and buy a radio where all that stuff is integrated for much less money than the $1000+ USD that they want for the Nav system.

Any luck? I am trying to figure this out also.

The 2012+ Canadian Fits have the same non-navi stock radio, it just has buttons on the wheel for bluetooth controls, this leads me to beleive there is an external unit in the car which controls the voice features......

I noticed this as well. I tried looking for parts on the http://torontohondaparts.com and can't find any illustration that shows the bluetooth as a separate system. I see the steering wheel controls here, and the sterio unit is a different part number. Canadian and US 39171-TK6-A01. If that means you have to buy a new stereo, that's going to be $463.81 plus shipping then you have the steering wheels controls for another $83.59. It's not looking pretty. Then wiring it up.... if it works..... Sounds a little iffy imho.

My Lx fit came with the oem Bluetooth for the non navi radio and steering controls.

There's a little box that I pulled out from under my drivers side dash which I believe is the add on to enable Bluetooth in the stock radio. You'd need to hunt down info on how to wire it up though.

I actually did the same (looked on toronto honda parts), I think I answered this on another thread which had this same question.

There is a separate box in addition to the buttons, different radio AND external box. The external box is crazy expensive, like $1,800 on the Toronto Honda website!!!

I forget which section it was in, I think the fuse section, it took some time to find it in the parts pull down menu.

I went with the BT35-HON instead and installed it this weekend, I also did the steering wheel audio controls, so I have a measure of control within reach. The Honda system is likely better, but this option is a fraction of the cost and I can control my audio system as well.

The wiring wouldnt be too bad I think, I had to do similar for the audio controls, the tricky part is finding appropriate pins. The prohibitive part here would be the cost of parts.
