what happens to the radio when the battery is removed?

Hi guys,

I can't locate and think there was something with the radio's security if the battery is disconnected.

I looked in the manual and didn't find something.

I have a 09 stock with stock radio.

is there some codes I would have to enter once the battery is reconnected?

thx in advance

If the battery is disconnected, the radio will need a code entered before it will work again. It also loses station presets.

The code should be with the original paperwork.

This is false. I've completely removed the battery for 2 days and it had everything still stored when I put my code in.

My mistake then. I'm pretty sure I lose them on the navi radio, but obviously that's a different radio.

Usually when the battery is disconnected, car has been jumped or jumped another car, anything like that, most of the time you'll need your radio code entered so your radio will work again. Sometimes, Honda does attach the five digit radio code or four digit navi code either on the inside of the glovebox or outside of it when open. sometimes, there will be a series of roughly 8-10 digits and letters which is your serial number which only the dealer will be able to get your radio code for you. If it is the stock radio or navi, the codes remain the same.

Navi??

Gotta do some mods soon where I will have to disconnect the battery, I got a 09 Navi. I'm gonna try just the neg. terminal, and see if my addresses are still there after. (presets are fast to reprogram)
