Blue Raspberry Metallic

I saw one of these today, it does not look like the color in the post right above this one ^. It looks like the lighter colors shown in this thread. It is a thing of beauty! However I am going to get Alabaster Silver, as I figure a classic color will wear better over the years and I won't get tired of it, even if it is a little more boring.

Well GOOD....sounds pretty, so I'm excited! Thanks!

Glad I didn't. Yes, the Vortex Blue I ended up choosing will cook me to death next summer, but I had no idea just how horribly girly this color would turn out to be.
Don't get me wrong, it's eerily beautiful. Especially to order for a wife/girlfriend. But for me? Pass. Vortex blue, please!

Car colors over the Years
I just ordered my 2012 base ... and I almost picked this color.

I was at a Classic Car Party this past Friday evening held by the local GM Dealer (a family owned business since the early 1960's) as a fundraiser for the organization I work for. The owner had a beautiful collection of classic cars some as old as the 1920's- but most were from the 1950's & 1960's. Lots of pastels, light yellow Cadillacs, aqua '54 Chevy Belair, & 1964 turquoise Corvette, 1955 GMC pickup in aqua/turquoise--almost the same as the blueberry metallic- although it wasn't metallic. I am sure these colors were not considered "girly" back in the day. So what makes a car a girly color today? Is it the metallic sheen? Changing attitudes about masculinity/femininity?
I remember an old boyfriend in high school who had a "55 Oldsmobile in a turquoise color. Interestingly- the only black car was the one from the 1920's when black was the only color available. There were one or two white cars and one pretty silver corvette.
To me, the most striking cars were those in the aqua/turquoise range and the beautiful red ones. .

These are 2 of Elvis' favorite cars. The pink one was his all time favorite lovingly named "Gladys."
Guess Elvis was secure enough in his manliness not to be intimidated by a "soft" color.
Elvis would have looked (and been) hot and manly driving a pink VW beetle.

This dealer rushed his inventory to YouTube much too quickly. Now it looks like crap (ill-deserved, though):

Congrats- beautiful color. Bring it back in to the dealer, maybe they'll give you some touch up paint. I would think it would be covered since it may have been like that when you bought it since it is so new.

Hmmm...
Went to local Honda dealer to check out the 2012 since Honda E-mailed that the 2012's were here. At Bill Page Honda, they did not have any on the lot, and might get one silver and one gray one by the end of the month. The salesman also told me that if I wanted a Blue Raspberry metallic, I would have to order it and wait. They have a current customer that has been waiting for a month and half and still has not received hers.
I would rather check the internet and see who has some in stock rather than deal with the low volume dealer who would not match prices with another dealer on the same car in 2010...
