2012 base security system question

We're looking to get a 2012 Fit base model. Honda Exterior Features
specs say "security system with remote entry" is standard for base and
sport models (2011 specs has "Remote Entry only" for base).

However under the "Instrumentation" section, "Security System Indicator"
is only standard for the sport model. What does this mean? Or is this a
typo?

Thanks!

Welcome! I'd have to guess the sport has a blinking red light on the dash when the security system is armed and the base does not. But the best thing to do is go to the dealer and compare side by side.

While 2012 base has security system , along with remote, it must also have the security system indicator light, which is located on your dash to the left of the speedometer. It is merely a flashing red light which activates once your security system is fully activated. The base has this, as well as sport. I had 2010 base and had security system added and the light was already there and operates as stated above.

Thanks for the reply john380. Wish I could have done a side by side
comparison but my dealer had no Fits on the lot (supply interrupted
by earthquake). I could only test drive a 09 Sport that was on the used
car lot.

Thanks for the reply yuwan63755. Yup I agree. Same thing when I
installed the security system on my 2010 Ody LX (base) van -- indicator
light was already there. So hoping this is a typo or it wouldn't make
sense. (But then again when I got my Ody LX it didn't have a cabin
filter even though there was filter tray. A few minutes with an Xacto
knife and I was able to put a filter on the tray. Go figure.)
