Diameter Difference: -Diameter Difference: 1.76%
So you would gain a quarter inch. Better than nothing! Please no "that's what she said" jokes!
The speedometer/odometer would read a little low, but not by much.
The engine RPM would be a little lower on the highway.
The tires would look less dinky.
All pluses, in my opinion

...I scratched my poor baby
I drove my "new" 09 Fit Sport last night to a friends (gotta show off my new wheels), and on the way out of their driveway, I SCRAPED the front spoiler! AHHHH!! There is no lip to where the driveway meets the road, just a little dip. Man, these things sit low. How do you guys manage when you lower them?
I pumped the tires up to 35 psi (they were sitting at 29). Ok, I know that won't help much, but every little bit...
I'm parking on the STREET from now on!
(Actually, I took a look underneath and it's not bad, but it sure caught me off guard!)

I live in the Norfolk, VA area and it has some super shitty roads and I don't have a problem with them and I'm lowered on "modified" drop zones... where the hell do you drive to have scrapping issues?
#24
I was stationed in Norfolk (NOB Pier11) so I know your roads well. I know that EVERYBODY complains of the roads where they live but you have to experience them in Massachusetts to know what I am talking about. My wife takes my Fit from time to time and she complains about it too. She went to get her nails done and turned into a parking lot with a slight incline at the entrance and that's all it took to scrape.

Yup! We have all kissed the ground with the front lip and it is not a pretty sound or feeling. I have the marks to prove it on the underside but thankfully nothing that anyone can see. Driving at angles is the best way to save the front of your car. Never go the direct route and take it slow so you don't hammer the front end.

My car is lower at the front axles by 1.5" but with the extended front bumper on the USDM cars it is dropped more at the lip.. I am thinking that because the Swift springs are linear opposed to being progressive in function and the spring pressure stays close to what it is without being compressed when it is compressed 4" I should be able to put hard rubber spring spacers on top of the front springs with out hurting the ride or damaging the strut dampers. That would also make the car sit close to being level front to rear but could increase under steer which now is only an issue when I am too heavy on the throttle a little too soon when exiting a curve.. If so I guess I will be in the market for a rear anti sway bar.

Had the Fit 3 days now and had my 1st nose scrape last night. Ye, pretty unnerving. When I got home and looked under the bumper it appears that the bumper did not scrape but some long black piece. Anyone know what that long black piece is? is that long black plastic piece replaceable?
I live in SoCal and have seen dudes going over speed bumps and driveway entrances at an angle for 30 years. I always kinda laughed at them but now I will not do that anymore. I will be an angler now. I had plans of dropping the fit slighly within a year or so but now I'm not so sure.

Supposedly that black strip is an underside diffuser. Ive heard if you remove it, mpg's suffer semi-noticeably.
Whether that is entirely accurate or not, Honda put it there for a reason. And yes, Im sure its replaceable if you totally tear it off. Driving lowered is easy. Angles are your friend lol

Well it is somewhat comforting to see the larger number of Fit owners who have scrapped the front end and I sure know that unnerving feeling when you hear that scraaape.
I've also been exercising the angle method and taking it slower. Doesn't always work but I've definitely reduced the number of times I've scrapped it.

Terrible!!! I've given up going to a great once-a-year Bluegrass Festival in East Hartford, Ct. just because the only parking spot is up a step drive that I could never make it up in my Fit without destroying the front end.

This is a timely thread for me.I have a 2012 Fit Sport and I'm going back and forth on whether or not I want to lower my car.
I've had plenty of practice driving lowered cars for the past 30 years here in Socal so I'm use to it but I know how pissed I will be if I scrape my new baby
I have a steep driveway so I'm careful and have good clearance so far at stock ride height.I think in the end I will not lower my car and just upgrade the wheels/tires
the Swifts are tempting but I like the stock ride and clearance so I think I'll remain stock.

Where I live it would be suicide to me and my car if I lowered it at all. Even using the angled driving techniques I have never avoided all scrapes. I wish I had a hydraulic system to temporarily raise the thing when going up driveways, etc.
#34
Lol you think stock is bad. Try dropping 2.5-3 inches with some coils. you go slow over speed bumps man lol.
Idk why but with angling. Going down is always harder than going up. It really ticks me off too.

I live in Baltimore and our roads/city looks post-apocalyptic. I'm also lowered on Swifts. Sure they make it a little harder, but once you adapt it's not bad. The lower diffuser doesn't show, so I'm not too worried about it being jagged : )

Yes I had to... I loved the Swift springs because of the way the car handled, still was comfortable to drive and even the way the car looked with them... I now have Buddy Club N+ coil overs... The handling is great with them and I don't mind the look with 205-50-16" wheels but driving 260 miles on Sunday was hell on my back and I'm suffering from that right now... I had put more pressure in the tires for the trip I took so dropping it back down a few pounds will make the ride more bearable.... I have lightly scraped a time or two but very lightly, not enough to cause the front bumper to pull loose from the fenders... The Swift springs will be getting boxed up to sell by the end of the week or sooner if the sciatic pain lets up sooner.
