LED tail options

I'm thinking of LED tails, probably red/clear to go with my Alabaster Silver G8. I found two pretty inexpensive options from DEPO on ebay:

Top only LED for $120
USA 2009 2010 HONDA FIT LED RED / CLEAR TAIL LIGHTS JDM | eBay

Top and bottom LED for $170
09-11 Honda Fit Jazz GD8 LED JDM R/C Tail Lights DEPO | eBay

My guess is there are real JDM clear/red LED tails for the G8, but are likely out of my price range ($200 or <).

Any other options or advice regarding the two depo lights above?

Keep in mind you get what you pay for...

I see a lot of aftermarket headlights/taillights which appear to be very cheap looking and many of LED's seem to go out.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

I bought the smoked Depo headlights, from this seller:

09-10 Honda Fit Jazz GD8 LED RED SMOKE Tail Light DEPO | eBay

No problems with the lights so far and the seller was great (communication + fast shipping) when I bought it back in April. Hope that helps you.

SOB, the cheap look is what i want to avoid, along with cheap quality. I don't want water in the lenses, etc. -- To be honest, of the tails I've seen, the genuine JDM non-LED's look the best to me. But, I'm a bit of a tech geek and if I upgrade tails, I wanted newer bulb tech too.

M4psycho, I appreciate the link/reference. How's the quality compared to stock? Any leaks or condensation in them?

I may just need to learn more about any true JDM led tail options and availability. If I like them, I'll likely need to increase my budget though.

Depo is ok, but they are replicas. They do not fit perfect like the real JDM,but not horriblr like $30 ebay ones. Condensation may happen over a long period of time( 2-3yrs)? Could happen in two days? Thats the risk you take.

Do they have to be LED?

Thanks Krimson.

I don't love the DEPO's, hence my thread to see what else I might be missing. Those JDM non-led's are real nice and I may end up with those. I need to hunt through the "Used JDM non-led" thread and see if there is some sort of LED variant available.

The J's racing Evil has are really sweet though.

<edit> Got price for the J's racing tails... too rich for me. </edit>

The depos I have fit flawlessly, and they didn't feel the least bit cheap. So far I've had no issues with condensation, and we've been through quite a bit of rain this past little while, and even snow earlier when I got them installed. On top of that they're about half the price of what OEM JDM lights would cost, and I also think they look a lot nicer. That's just my opinion though. Like someone said, you might (?) see condensation years down the road, but I won't be able to comment on that until later.

Thanks for the DEPO experiences guys. I'm fairly confident the DEPO's will be okay now. The two DEPO LED versions and OEM JDM non-led are all do-able for me. Obviously they are very different. No custom fit's in my area to see either in person, so I'm going to search around youtube, etc. and see if I can find video of each.

Like I'm sure we all are, I'm pretty damn picky about my car and would like to see each lit up and see how the signals, brakes applied, etc. look. I'd really like to make a decision this weekend.

as one of the few who have the real deal jdm led tail, it's barely noticeable. i guess in a good way, not to draw attention.

only ones who would know are fit enthusiasts...but won't notice till i hit the brakes.

would i do it again? probably not.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and DEPO reviews.

Looks awesome. I had DEPO lights and tails from my BMW in the past with no problems.
