Is this a good deal?

First off, Hello!

Second, is this a good deal? I went to the dealer earlier without much preparation or research and was offered a 2011 Honda Fit Sport Automatic for $17,500 with 3.19%/5 year financing. That does not include the extra 10% TTL (tax, title, license). Sticker on that car was $19,xxx.

What's your thoughts on this? The guy was like most salesmen and really wanted to make a deal. I told him to give me the one with navigation for that price and would have a deal, sadly he said no...

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Auto or 5 speed, any options?

Due to the Tsunami it is hard to get a decent buy on a Fit at the present time. So the longer you put off the purchase the more negotiating power you will have. They claim normal production will resume in the fall.

This is a good place to start your research

This link is for the FT Myers Fl area, make sure you put your own location in.

Later we can talk about the dealer fee ripoff in some states.

For an auto sport, nearly $1k off MSRP seems like a pretty good deal.

It seems like a god price under the current conditions. Depends on what else they are going to add to the price when he is not looking!

I got the same deal about a month ago after working about 8 dealers pretty hard. The place I bought was the only one willing to move at all. Noone else would bite at even a $100 of msrp. They included mats and locking lugs. I thought it was fair.

Seems like a good deal to me...Some dealerships give you a better price if you're a Costco member so if you or someone you know is a Costco member then ask if you can get a discount.

Well, I decided to jump on it!

I first went to another Honda dealer to see if they could beat the price, but sadly they laughed at me when I told them another dealer could get me an Automatic Sport model for $17,500 at 3.9%. The lowest they were willing to go was $18,800! But, as I was leaving he did tell me that if there is one for that price that I should buy it.

I checked Truecar pricing and it says $17,500 is about $170 cheaper then Dealer Cost. Even though, I'm not exactly sure how that makes sense. Either way I felt it was pretty good.

I will try to post pics soon, though its nothing you guys/gals haven't seen before... A stock silver Fit Sport w/ auto trans.

I'd say you got a sweet deal. When I bought last month, most dealers near me wanted just over msrp for new fit sport's. I was lucky just to save a coupla hundred bucks on an alabaster silver sport (non-nav).

Congrats on the new ride! I'm digging mine so far.
