OEM Alarm FYI!
I probobly should have posted this thread a couple months ago, but sorry i was too upset to speak about it. Well, it all happened a couple months ago on the night of the premier of Fast & Furious, and after that i parked my car in front of my house around 3AM. I woke up around 9AM, only to come outside and notice that i only had three windows! and of course, a tone of shattered glass inside my car. Plus a stolen gps, radar, etc..
To my surprise, the alarm did NOT sound when the window was broken. The ones who broke into my car must have been experienced enough to do so without opening the door. Apparently, our cars alarm will only sound when someone attempts to break in through opening the door, NOT window. Im sure i cannot be the only one aware of this fact, and to those who didnt know this, well your welcome, now go buy an alarm that will work when someone tries to break into your fit!

Sorry to hear about your Fit and the stolen stuff. The alarms in most car work off the door switches. A motion detector would be the ticket for a better alarm system. Trying to keep anything over 20.00 out of our cars when we park it will not keep the theives from breaking in but it will keep them from making a profit off of us.

Sorry to hear about your vehicle. Someone tried to break into my integra but only ended up chipping the glass. not enough to replace the window but stil...
In general, Very few manufacturers have Glass sensors in their cars from the oem. all of the shock/glass/specialty sensors come with the 3rd party alarms such as viper, etc... usually anything that will turn your car's dome light on, will set off the alarm but vibrations, etc... won't.

Thanks. Everyone that i tell the story to always asks me why the alarm didnt go off, so i began to question myself about it. Unfortunately, when the bastards broke my window, they also succeeded in damaging a part of the window motor regulator thingamajig, and so now i have to pay for a new motor assembly as well, which actually costs more than the window itself.

No, i usually wake up easily when i hear a loud noise, and so do my two dogs. The good news was that because my windows were tinted, there was not as much glass that was all over my car, and maybe thats why i didnt hear as loud of a shatter. Apparently the officer that took the report said it happened to a couple others nearby between 5AM-7AM. I guess they already had their Dunkin'

Damn, that sucks...sorry to hear this. When I owned a '97 Integra, I awoke one time to find my two front leather seats stolen!! I'm not sure if it was a stock Acura alarm or not. I went to open the car door and was like, "Wait, something is wrong".....LOL....Police took finger prints, but of course never solved it. Funny thing is when the tow truck arrived to tow to the dealership, I had to get in the car and maneuver it slightly to align it for the flatbed....very weird sitting on the floor, steering the car...
