How fast will a stock fit sport go?

Last month, on a very long, very flat stretch of road, with no wind, I decided to test my AT Sport top speed.
This road section was in a very obscure part of Alaska. It was so straight and flat that I couldn’t believe it.
It took me probably 2 minutes to reach 100mph and another minute to hit 110mph. It felt like the engine had a little more left in it and I figured I could have possibly eked out 115mph. However, at this point, I was getting bored, and was watching my average MPG reading going down rapidly, so I let off. Plus, I didn’t want to take a chance on hitting a moose at that speed. It would definitely have been game over at that point.
The engine sounded just fine at that speed, much better than every other car I’ve owned at top speed.
I don’t remember what RPM I was hitting at the end, my focus was pretty narrow at that point.
The handling and aerodynamics felt rock solid at that speed though. No floatyness or wandering at all. I was impressed.

I had my stock '10 sitting on it's limiter yesterday on the interstate... Approximately 117mph and 5500rpm or so on the 5 speed manual.. A far cry from the 144-147 that my stock 05 Gti could do but it's hard to compare those cars. I also don't feel the fit likes those really high speeds it doesn't feel really planted.
Also to the people that claim it takes minutes to get to 100 and minutes more to hit 110 that must be from the inefficiency and loses cause it takes no time on the manual

We have maxed several Fits and 110 for manuals and 105 for autos is pretty much it for averaged 2 ways on level ground. perhaps if we had another 5 miles more but not toop likely.

We're frickin' spoiled these days. Old-school economy cars didn't have nearly that much power. Even the bigger "economy" motors often had less (the typical Corvair flat-sixes were 95 and 110 HP, for instance, and those were gross rather than net horsepower figures).
I haven't yet tried to max out my Fit (I have taken it to 85 or so and it felt rock steady), but I did try it once in my '00 Saturn SL. It would get to 105 MPH before the limiter kicked in. Once that happened, you had to take your foot completely off the pedal before the ECU would let you have any more fuel.
Of course, the SOHC 1.9 in the Saturn was the polar opposite of the Fit motor. It was practically a tractor engine: 114 lb-ft of torque at 2400 RPM and 100 HP at 5000, redline 5500. The only engine I've experienced that seemed more tractorlike was the Toyota 20R in the late 70s/early 80s Celicas. Those were very deceptive; you'd think you were going 45 MPH, look down at the speedometer, and discover you were doing 70.

The GE8 in manual trim has no trouble redlining in 5th. Its a very short transmission compared to most cars and is matched very well to the powerband of the L15A7
I bet you could even top it out in less then a minute. unlike my very first civic that was stock d15b2 with an intake and ebay header. That thing I could pop off the rev limiter in 3rd, but struggled like holy hell in 4th and 5th. When revving high in 4th I am pretty sure I lost speed shifting to 5th hahaha

What are you talking about -- you went from 20" to 35" tires? I don't think so.

09 Honda Fit 5 speed MT.
Was in a very flat 2 lane road in Wyoming headed towards 4 Corners Monument coming from Mt. Rushmore. The speed limiter kicked in at 120 mph. I slowed down to 100 then 120 again to confirm. I think the rpm was at 5,500 or more at 120 mph in 5th gear. I was more busy looking out far ahead for elks/rams/cops etc. than to keep checking the rpm.

and the point of this speed? Just showing off? I am sure the families will applaud your remains when they bury their loved ones.

According to body mass index, ambient temperature of 72 degrees and barometric reading of 29.92, dropped from C-5 Galaxy at 27,000', a Honda Fit Sport {auto & manual} should hit a terminal velocity of 132.77773 MPH before impacting the ground. JFYI

I've hit 100 or so a few times accidentally... it really doesn't take that long to get from 60-100 ('10 MT) when passing truck convoys on lonely interstates. I always find myself saying "guess I shouldn't be going 100..." after i'm done passing and I look down at the speedo.
Never maxed it out but I can imagine it being a slowish climb in 5th gear after 100 or so.
Anyone have the time to figure out what the gear limited speed is? I have to head OOO now

120
I have the UK version. Labeled Honda Jazz EXL 1.4 litre. I have driven it through Europe and the absolute maximum is 120. Not my speedo reading ( speedo shows more) but by 3 GPS's ( 1 pocket PC, an iphone and an HTC HD2 ). At 120 the engine cuts out, there must be a speed limiter or else the valves are bouncing
Does anyone know if there is definitely a limiter? It won't go faster with this working?

With no backseats, light rims, Ram air, and some guts, i squeezed 119 out of it at mile marker 31 on 96 headed to Indiana. Didnt take much really, looked down and was just shy of 120. it was screaming but didnt take long, about 2 miles or so with a tailwind
