sirius radio
i know that the factory installed radio on the 2011 fit sport is not designed to handle a sirius hookup. I want to get sirius but cannot decide which setup will go well. You know not glued to the dash. Blends with the dash. Any recommendations.

If you're looking for an iPod deck, Alpine makes some of the best ones. I had their old iDA-X001, and it was the best head unit I've ever had. That doesn't just apply to iPod units either. Alpine makes some of the best head units out there period.

If you go with an Alpine deck, I have a KCA-SC100 (open box, unused) and an SCVDOC1 (new in box) that I'm looking to sell. As I understand it, if you want to use timeshifting features with Sirius + an Alpine headunit, you need to plug a portable radio into the SCVDOC1 which goes into the KCA-SC100 which then goes to the headunit. The SCC1 Universal Tuner does not support timeshifting, but if that's not a requirement for you, it's certainly a cheaper option. The KCA-SC100 is required in either setup unless you get one of the newer HUs that support the SXV100.
I'll sell the KCA-SC100 and SCVDOC1 as a pair for $70 shipped to the lower 48. Both items are unused -- I was going to install them but ultimately decided to forgo Sirius in the new Fit. Since I've canceled Sirius for now, I also have a Sportster 4 and Sportster 5 (both used) that I'd be willing to sell to anyone that's interested.
If nothing else, I hope some of this helps. I spent a lot of time researching the options to get Sirius integrated with an aftermarket HU and hope that at least someone can get some use out of the info!

Not positive, but supposedly The Sirius half of SiriusXm has quit making new radios. Eventually, there's going to be a SiriusXm ver 2.0. At that point, new Xm radios will be able to use either service, whichever you sign up for.
There are still Sirius radio's available, SIRIUS Radio, SIRIUS antennas, SIRIUS accessories | TSS-Radio is a good place to look, and they are usually helpful. I've bought antennas through them a couple times, never had any problems.
Another option, if you have a smart phone, preferably with an unlimited data plan, just sign up for Sirius internet only, and just plug a line into the phone's headphone jack and the stereo's aux port, and get Siri off your phone.
Fair warning, I get much fewer drops from my old Sirius One unit with the antenna just tossed up on the dash, than I do when using the phone, droid 3G.

Installed the sirius radio and works great, Stuck it in the forward cup holder. Only problem is that the wire that plugs into the aux radio port is insightly. Is there an adapter that mounts to the connector in the upper glove box that would receive the plug on the wire from the radio? Doesn't make much sense but I am not a radio person.

Use a retractable mini DIN cord for a neater look. Or you can snake the wire behind the head unit and dremel out a small hole close to the aux port, but I figured the retractable cord was a lot easier and wouldn't show if you removed the radio down the road when selling the car.
The upper glove box has a USB connection, so it would require the proper electronics to be used as an audio input.

Walmart might have them, or could try Staples...
Scosche® rePLAY - Retractable Audio Cable for iPod & MP3 | Staples®
That's what you're looking for. Its still exposed/visible, but there's no slack so it doesn't look all messy.

Norman & anyone else with satellite radio-would you post a photo of your setup? I am thinking of getting XM radio.
I am already using the front left cupholder next to the console for my gps --don't want it to be too cluttered

Mine is sitting in the cup holder. I didnt want it on the dash or the air vent. it does not look all that good but I will paly with it. The only thing I dont like is the wire from the aux on the radio to the sirius. Cheaper that a radio replacement/
