I guess some people have their heads in the sand and can't see reality for what it is... but I have to say I am amazed to see such a passionate defense of TPMS systems. I'll leave it at that since I'm sure we'll never come to agreement on this. TPMS is here and not going away anyhow... hope everyone enjoys big brother watching over our lives more and more.

Yeah, sure, this is the government monitoring your actions. For Gosh sake, it's a frigging warning light, nothing more. Get over it.

TPMS = "big brother"? If it keeps some soccer mom from losing control of her SUV and wiping out my kids, where do I contribute to the big brother fund?

YES!!! it is. All Acronyms are big brother. That's why I think everyone needs to get their aluminum foil hats out of the closets. It's mind rays being emitted from the TPMS sensors to bring us all into submission. Get your constitutionally protected Assault rifles by your side cause THEYS IS COMIN'!

OK I ripped the TPM receiver out so government transmissions can't control my mind. I also took out the transmitters (tires look a little odd now) so my position can't be tracked.

How do we feel about airbags? Passive restraints were mandated by the US government in 1984 effective in 1989 (remember the motorized seat belts? The "passive" spider web of belts in some cars? ugh.) Airbags were required sometime in the 90s (not sure of the year wiki fails me). Here we have a small explosive charge pointed at our faces and no one is kvetching? We need to get our kvetch on.

Once GPS was established tracking anything was the natural result.
Relax. For now. Vehicle tracking has been around a long time and can easily be incorporated into the ECU. There are those in government who are actively pushing that be included so that drivers can be taxed according to how much and even where they drive.Plenty of vehicles already are tracked and virtually all trucking. Google teen ager tracking for an interesting education. You can be tracked now and not even know it.
But not to worry about air bags, TPMS and the like. They are there only to take care of the lesser competent, mostly Democrats, who believe weshould all be wards of them
