My dealer just called me to tell me that if he wasn't able to install a cruise control on my Fit, it was because there is a difference in electronics component between Fit 2010 and Fit 2011.

Is this true or is this bullshit?

As far as I was aware it wasn't possible for the dealer to instal cruise. If it is let me know. That's the biggest thing I miss on my road trips.

 

Do you have a Fit 2011?

The dealer just called me and said someone could install it... but I am suspicious because he lied to me before and I was wondering if maybe Fit 2010 is like 2011 as cruise control is concerned.

All 2011 Fits come with cruise. The 2010 Base model did not come with cruise, that is why many opted for the Sport.

Yeah I have a base 2010 Fit. If I could get cruise installed by the dealer that would be amazing but I am not hopeful at all.

 

What did your dealer replied when you asked for the cruise?

Mine saif it would be easy... paid for that but still waiting for it to get installed more than 3 weeks later...

 

Your dealer was trying to sell an upgrade to get more money on his service departments books. They didn't even know if they could install their (yes aftermarket) cruise on the car or not. Tell them you want all the money back and now you will just have to live with it.

 

I wouldn't have buy this car without cruise control... I'll see what I can do...

BTW: they tell me they could easily install such cruise control on 2010... any major change between 2010 and 2011?

 

For the US, the base Fit got included cruise, VSA, plus floor mats are included in the price. But none of that should affect the Canada base fit.
