Which TPMS rebuild kit from discount tire?

Hi there,

I've been reading tons on this forum and have found it to be of immense value! It's time to replace the stock tires on my 09 fit sport. From the research I've done, it looks like the 185/55R16 are the best bet as far as mpg's go.

The best deal I've found so far is on Discount Tire but you have to pick between a metal valve stem TPMS rebuild kit of a rubber one and I can't seem to find any info on here or anywhere else regarding this.

I found one other thread that mentioned it but the question didn't actually get answered...

Thank so much you in advance and any other suggestions are always more than appreciated!

Shouldn't need to do anything to the tpms if you're just getting tires mounted.

If you don't mind me asking, which tires are you going with? I noticed discount tire direct has Hankooks in the stock Sport size, which is one of the very few options we have.

You know, I'm having a hard time deciding.

It looks like I will definitely be getting hankooks but I can't decide between the stock 185/55R16 size or the 205/50-16 size.

The 205's are 2 bucks cheaper each plus a $40 rebate right now but I'm concerned about them being to sluggish and affecting the mpg's dramatically.
My wife will have a 500 miles a week (all highway) so mpg's are a big factor.

I'll do some more poking around on here and see what others think about it...

So i'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the 205's.

This thread was really helpful -
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...t-sport-2.html

also, I may be going with these -
Kumho Ecsta AST

I read through a lot of reviews and a they seem really good. A couple people said that they were quiet which would be really nice. There basically the same price as tire direct and not only would you not have to wait for the rebate, you can also arrange to have them shipped directly to an installer.

I've emailed an installer on their list just to make sure everything is kosher. Unless someone has something bad to say about these tires I'm pretty sure this is the path I'll be taking.
