I found a way to make my Fit more comfortable. I'll post pictures some day when I will have time but here is what I can tell you: I got this idea from a very short woman (5'0 to 5'2).

Try to put a cushion up on the seat. The problem with the seat (well, one of the problems) is the big curve on the lumbars. Instead of trying to modify this, you simply need to add something up to make the seat more straight. I added a 1 inch cushion and it works. It's not perfect for me because I have other back problems, but it worked perfectly for the small woman and it helped me drive 2000 miles last month for a long trip from Canada to North Carolina back and forth!

Try it and I'm sure it will help. Good luck!

P.S. You can also try to modify seat alignement. I added 6 washers at the back of the rails and now I seat straight as hell.

You can swap FIT OEM seats with 8th Generation Civic Si seats and retain airbags but you need to fabricate the rails.

Thanks for the advice! I'm gonna try a seat cushion for now, but I'm checking at a junk yard tomorrow for replacement headrests. Hopefully this is an inexpensive fix. When I pay off the car I'll consider new seats then. I LOVE the idea of heated and cooled seats ^_^

If it was this seat it is actually made by recaro.

I feel spoiled every time I drive the Fit now. I've actually taken it on a couple long drives and I feel better when I get out than when I got in. Best modification I've ever done to a car.

Your DIY explains everything quite detailed and easy to follow, which is making me think about getting a Recaro drivers side seat.

Do the cooling fans provide sufficient cooling during intense summer days?

I checked the link provided, and also did a search and found that some Recaro seats come with airbag, was there any reason you didn't opt for the airbag? any pro's and con's (besides the obvious ones) ?

+ reps for a great DIY, and adding another thing to my list which I have no time, or money for (YET!)

The fan helps but you can really only feel it when the A/C is on. It is especially nice when it's super hot out. Cools you down quick.

Not available in the model I wanted. Haven't seen any listed for sale with that feature. I know it says that on the website but I don't know if you can actually get that as an option and I don't even want to know how much it costs.

Thanks! It's totally worth the effort.

How does that compare to the weight of the stock seats?

No idea what the stock seat weighs but it's not super light. I would guess I added 10-15 lbs or so if that. It's not a real heavy seat.

The leather recaros I've had in audis were heavy. Like 65 lbs each.

We got a used seat with no fuse, do you recall what size fuse came with your seat?
